    training in progress

Hello everyone, my name is Ivan and I'm 21 years old.
I am studying at Literature and languages department of the Moscow State University, but shortly after entering the university i noticed that art is awesome and that i totally shoud do it for living. Now I want to obtain the skills of a professional artist and change my profession. Right now I have to study both at the uni and then (and sometimes before) study art, but I'll do something about it.
After all, my main problem right now is not the lack of time, but inability to use the remaining time efficiently.

And of course, I would be glad to hear criticism if I deserve.

The stuff from last post (i won't say "page" because there are just two)

    Now the old stuff:

Here is this week's share of studies. Tried to copy from Gist, understood something and decided to copy old masters. Also tried to understand a little how human body is made.
Udpate: made them smaller just in case.

    Hi,

Wow, the busts are very good, along with all the studies. Have you done much actual shading? I think that would probably be the next step forward. Really nice sketch..page!

    Best of luck,

    Ana

    Kino_PuA, thanx.
One last study of that head (it's starting to get boring) and one more from imagination.

I think you have a wonderful eye for the human form and musculature the only picture I can think of to comment on is the sitting man (above the skeleton study). Something about the length of his torso and the lack of detailing on the stomach area below the arm reads a little unnaturally to me - though that could be my mis-reading of it (I know it's an older one so forgive me for bringing it up!)

The only other thing I can think of is to see you applying that depth of knowledge to something imagined, the pen piece done from your imagination still seems to hold a lot of detail and definition but the last one feel a little empty by comparison. I look forward to seeing more

Finished those remrandt studies. Also a hand study after ivany86, a lalyne study and a selfportrait (not very close, but an attempt is an attempt).
    To those who replied.
    lenzerwin, thanks.
Junebug, better late than never, right? Thanks. And you are right about the torso, i need to observe better.

Mostly copies and scetches from life though there is one from imagination. And two longer copies at the end. Tried to work first with figure, second - with tone.

Well, couldn't update it for month. Though there was a bit of work, i'll update only things done today and yesterday. The last ones are two selfportraits, failed, as usual. Decided to draw one every day.

Those days i was kinda slacking off, so i've spent all day on drawing to compensate. Mostly Bammes and the bust again. The bust is always fun. it's hard to not draw it again when i see it in the morning light. I really should find a new one.

Very nice studies man. Are the sculptures actually from life or photo?

Pete Hidalgo, those are from life as i managed to lay hands on some busts. And some i actually have bought.
I tried to redraw the last one in photoshop but i doubt that it's any better now)

dimi Thanks for the advice! I will certainly put my effort into skull studies and head construction.
    Psychobuddy Thanks.
Now the new ones. I finally have found a model for the anatomy studies. Apparently it was hiding in the mirror.

i've returned. This year i'm studying at the drawing courses and i hope to improve a bit. Though right now are the holidays and i'm going to stay at home, study, and i'll be able to post the stuff. So here the stuff done in those months.
The last one is from imagination.
