E.O.W Round #177: Magic Carpet Racing World Cup

Round #177: Magic Carpet Racing World Cup

TOPIC = Magic Carpet Racing World Cup

    Brief:

In ancient times, an alliance of sultans and kings set out to create a new competitive sport pitting magic carpet fliers against each other in an all out race of epic proportions. The rules varied depending on the hosting country or region, as the terrain all over the world was wildly different and sometimes very treacherous. Before being abolished as a sport by Badr the Dreadful because he was allergic to carpet fabric, the Magic Carpet Racing World Cup had reached it’s zenith and was truly a fantastic sight to behold during that time period.

I think I've found the mood I want. So many unsolved problems though. Glad there's plenty of time.

Hi! So this is my first time, and im still slightly insecure whether it's appropriate of me to join this... I still feel my skill lvl is somewhat (understatement) below the rest of you... But to hell with it, we'll see how it goes?

So my idea is in some dark snowy place up north (Siberia maybe?) and the riders are racing though a canyon with treacherous winds thowing one off his carpet. It's night, so the only thing lighting the scene is the bonfires on the mountainsides and from the city in the distance, where the riders are headed.

    First go of the topic
I think the story I would get if I just looked at this would be that she's being chased. I'll probably scrap it and start over.

Great subject! Here are some wips.

I don't know how I feel about this one... It's a bit cluttered and distracting, as opposed to

which feels nice and simple, but I kinda want to have the race in a city.

Patonki - you could remove the center objects and take the floor away (race through a canyon), put people on along the buildings on either side, i think they should be smaller too

Well, i have no idea when this is closing, but might as well get on with my WIP.

uff, I don't think I have the skills to match these current wips but I'm going to give it a shot. If I finish my school shading assignment I might give it a little spin.
