what you're gonna be seeing here are probably anatomy and figure studies, some photo studies, portraits, drawings etc.

i'll start the ball rolling with some older stuff. im not posting all the old stuff cos there's alot, but enough to show i hope

of course all c&c are welcome.
    figure drawing from magazines 31march

some arm studies from last week or so- they are actually many pages fitted into one image. from loomis and bridgeman

a pencil portrait i did some time ago

    digital photo studies

    + WIP

i have used a mouse for the digital stuff here but now i've a wacom intuos.

time to revive a dead sketchbk.

i recently started school, im enrolled in a digital media design course and we've been doing some drawing and stuff.

so here's some old and new stuff. some are school work while others are my own studies or drawings for fun.

from the old to the new:

    skull studies

    irrelevant junk

self portrait -- we have to do one daily -- traditonal media

    drawing class

started learning perspective in class too.

colour theory class: painting with gouache. my 1st time painting traditionally, fun.

    irrelevant stuffs again

    Yina,

I dunno why I haven't dropped by before. Let me say it is really great to see your improvement. You seem to have a good eye for color (your color choices for that vector drawing are great), your ref paintings are looking real good, and great job on your perspective drawings. Keep on sketching!

painting is tunring out very well.

the one blue tree in the middle back is stealing alot of attention though. its much too contrasty to the yellow backglow compared to the trees around it.

    cheers!

hey yina, looking real good on the painting. The only crit I have is that her pose that she's in. She's running with her hands close up to her? like she's happy to see someone? but she doesn't have a smile on her face? I dunno, the pose is kind of confusing. Try and tell a story with her pose, maybe you can make it work, i dunno. I would also make the nostros(sp?) bigger so we are able to see it from far away. Can't wait till it's finished.

Hello Yina, i just discovered your sketchbook and had a look around and found a few gems in your pencil works. You said that you were trying out some different strokes and you seem to have a handle on that and then some. The eyes on the wolf, (or is it a fox?) are very deep and expressive, but I think that the snout is a bit too short for a wolf. The eyes make it, though. The drawing of the seated guy from the 7-11 post is very nice. The sculpture looks like it might be interesting, so I hope that you post some more pics of that.

Nice sketchbook, it's like a huge variety store here. Just about everything, they are all looking really solid, love the storyboard and the cloud! nicely done. The last WIP seems promising.. Keep it posting Yina

Wow, amazing work you have here!
I absolutely love the colour work you do! I have some crits on your wip, she doesn't seem to be running away from someone, but rather running towards someone. The way her expression and eyes are fixated, she seems more fixed on a forward goal, rather than escaping what is behind her.
The value and skintone you've developed is also beautiful, the one thing that bugs me is the arm away from us changes in tone from the rest a lot, there are a lot more green tones present, which makes the entire arm appear as a different skintone.
Last one is not a crit, but a suggestion for some details, I'd love to see some light/colour bouncing between the skin and the dress because they are in such close contact. Don't know if you planned on adding it or not, just a suggestion.

    Damn....
    You're a very talented artist
You're hot. (You've got to be)
    You're asian.
    ...
    You're perfect.

If I were in Singapore right now I'd be stalking you nonstop!
Guess I'm gonna have to save some money for a ticket...
but I am a looser, no way I'm gonna stand it till I'd finally have that money together....Oh well...I guess I am gonna go and shoot myself.
    So long....
