    IOW #10 - Pinup

Illustration of the Week #10: Pinup

This is a two week topic.

    Topic
This weeks topic is Pinup. This is fairly unrestricted--paint me a guy or girl or alien, doesn't matter, just make sure it's a pinup. You can do any style you want as long as it's sexy...take a look at some of what others have done if you need inspiration (for example Gil Elvgren).

    Deadline
The deadline is Sunday 27th of November, 23:59 GMT

    Did someone say pinup?!?!?!
Art is not about competing against others and being better than everyone else, but it is about competing against yourself and discovering your greatest potential!

These are definitely...interesting. His rendering style reminds me of cryptcrawler--so smooth looking. I wish I knew how they do it \=

I know man, Brad Rigney (Cryptcrawler) uses the smudge tool alot to get that smooth effect, and i think Papaninja uses a ton of layers. Easier said than done though =p

Heres some little tutorial that Papaninja did which might explain his method beter - http://sergebirault.blogspot.com/201...-tutorial.html

Was kind of running with the idea of subverting the bombshell ideal and doing a model past her prime. Then I reread the brief - guess I skimmed over the must be sexy part haha.

This flickr set is pretty relevant (and hilarious) for those of you trying to go with something a bit unorthodox: http://www.flickr.com/photos/clickan...th/5658642294/
