Great updates Tomas!! this one especially!! god I miss your work! I hope you have been well bro!
I'm returning to full time work in an art shop soon. need some money to put into buying new equipment. I feel like I know what I must do to improve now whereas before I was lost, so all that time to focus on art really helped. so I'm confident I can continue my practice whilst working fulltime.
and coffee is my new friend lol.
    catch you soon man!

hey Tomas! I am fan of your oil landscapes especially the moody ones from winter time. There is just something about it that there is not that much of love coming from your digital stuff. Are you uncomfortable without smell of turpentine? Keep up great work!

luthertaylor: Thanks bro. I'm doing well here. Good to know things are getting clear for you! Just don't forget to regularly sketch at least with pen and paper before you get to buy the equipment. And thanks so much for the Sargent links, very precious gifts indeed as I can't have enough of him.
Jr.Molcak: Thank you man. The truth is that painting on location and experiencing the scene with all senses just makes you react more deeply.
blazingdimensions: thanks bro. I'll make sure to stop by your thread asap.

Thank you all for leaving a comment for me here. Much appreciated. I'll try to do the same for each of you next week.

And in the meanwhile, here are few plein air paintings:

Great to see someone going strong at both digital and traditional. I don't even know which ones I like more, but it sure makes me want to get back to real paints myself. Keep inspiring!

Hey Tomas what a lovely collection of art you have here. I can't believe I've only just found it. I really like the paintings where you capture the light and atmosphere and mood of the scene. All very inspiring. I am still only at the drawing stage but I am working towards painting outdoors and seeing your work just makes me want to try harder so I can do it to.

I love that study of the sculpture in whites. You really captured the subtle differences in the tones on that one. Lovely work as always!

yo Tomas, Thanks for stopping by my blog those digital pieces are sooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!! I can really "feel the mass" of the statues and the atmosphere! This one especially looks like something straight out of dark souls!
Journey of an artist (traditional and digital stuff)

in your sketches are you doing a wash with gouache? they look a lot more thick than our standard watercolours. especially the colour studs.
    I'll be in touch bro

darkdream: thanks! Well, I guess I work full time.
luthertaylor: Thanks Luther and you are welcome. This year, I love statues. And I have to try Dark souls again. This game frustrated me last time to the point that I didn't want to play it again.

Anyway, I'm holding a little contest with one of my paintings as a prize. All you need to do is to share a link on your fb wall. Learn more here.
So yeah, you have a pretty good shot at wining an original artwork.

    And few recent oil paintings:

Love the Italy sketches. Really nice sense of detail and overall form. Also love the last batch of paintings. I'd recently come to the conclusion that you don't use strong enough blues in your work and was going to mention it but after seeing those, I cant, lol.

Guess you just don't get many sunny days where you are. It's the same here in Scotland mind you so I can relate.

    Beautiful work as always!
