What kind of sense does that make? That's like saying that there's no point in exploring a new land unless you already know something valuable is to be found there. Or that you shouldn't attempt to cure a disease unless you know ahead of time that a cure exists. That's not how things work. If you think the task is important then it's worth taking a risk over and if you don't want to take the risk then the task can't be very important to you.
