    update

DANKA,MVS & GEB - thanks for the kind words,
I'm not sure my work is especially clean compared to others, as I dont think my method is that distinguished, I usually start from a very detailed pencil sketch, ironing out all the design details, so I'm not guessing with the paintbrush, I use the pencil marks as part of the paint-job itself, they really help keep everything in check. And quite a few layers too, this keeps everything distinct and clean.

    Cheers guys,
Here's a couple more images from the book,

Sigmund Nastrazurro has blogged an insightful analysis of it, @ (planetfuraha.blogspot.com) amongst some other really good articles on speculative biology and biomechanics, if you're serious about getting nitty gritty with the actual fabric of concepting new lifeforms his website is a good place to get familiar with the challenges, it goes into real detail. (for example there's a detailed endoskeleton design vs practical application article here.

    Enjoy

Hello CApeeps, it's good to be back, wow, loving the new mass uploader, aaah, how can one convey the contrast between this and the old one? There's new pics to come, but they're all under NDA until god knows when,
until then here's some revamped oldies....

Thanks Heavenwill, it's always nice to hear when the book's gone to a good home
Carreau - Thanks too, I often think I overblast the colours, but somehow I stay within the zone.

WOW. The most amazing stuff is the small stuff in in this world. Because we never really notice it. Always paying attention to the bigger things. ABSOULUTLY LOVE THIS.

    update

Sorry for the infrequent updates, part busyness and part waiting for clients permissions. Here's some more devilish cats for Fuzion/Hellfire and a creeky Golem for LOD's. Thanks for the kind messages and sentiments, I place great value in crits, especially here at CA.org where its more expected, so please fire away.

Thanks Julius, these are sketched out in pencil first, rough values done in Photoshop (the adjustment tools are more refined than in Painter), and then brushed out in Painter, - these last few paintings were commissions, given between three and five days to finish, but I can easily carry them further into unheard realms of absurd perfectionism
