UPDATE 11/21/11: My sketch book "Once upon a time in my mind" released

Just a quick update, please scroll to my second post below as I post about my new book thats just been released.

    Hi CA,
Hope everyone had a spooky freaky Halloween. Here's some new stuff. The first is a pencil drawing for my Sketchbook I will be publishing soon, it will include some of the many sketches and drawings I've posted over the years on CA.
I have tons of other stuff under NDA but here are the ones I can show for now.

thanks for looking, and keep drawing!

    JP

Great to see a post from the old guard. Great stuff as always, JP. Love that pencil sketch and the green hydra beastie is bad ass.

    Update:
My first collection of sketches, doodles, drawings is now available in a professional printed book. titled "Once Upon a Time in my mind" You can check it out here. There's a good representation of my drawings and sketches but more then that some insight into my thought process when aproaching sketches and the importance of it in my work. This book means alot to me as it's my first self published book and one I'm proud to say CA.org was a part in making as I've posted some of the work here in my sketchbook thread many years ago and with each comment was encouraged to keep going.

Here's the link again Targete's Sketchbook

Here are some pages from it below.

    Thanks,

    JP

Everything's full of energy and you have an amazing ability to render textures. Excellent detail work in the pencil drawings too.

I always get inspired looking at your work. I totally dig your graphite work man, and i'm stoked as you've made a book available of that medium.

Thank you for all the comments everyone means the world to me and keeps me on my feet.

Ranunkel-thank you, your comments make me want to push harder

    MatejaPetkovic-thank you!

Primordial Seven- Thank you for the kind words. There's two things I love to draw is movement and action an lots of details and textures

    Hulkfish- Most appreciative thank you!

mozchops- Whoa Alan Lee? he is a legend among us mortals, but I will take that compliment with the utmost humility, very humbling. John Howe Alan Lee Brian Froud and a few others are artist I definatley enjoy. Thank you self publishing si where it's at studios and large publisher over-look the small guys ..every dog has his day

brand2017- Thank you but I can assure you there is no lack of skills on this site I'm just a drifter enjoying all the fantastic stuff I've seen, and sharing when I can. Everyone here is my inspiration, keeps me on my game If I have any.

macwilson- Thank you, I will try to do more and share more.

Drawnsword- Thank you, graphite is where it's at in terms of a raw medium, no hiding behind photoshop as I've done in the past . Digital is a great commercial tool and for fine art but I still love traditional stuff the most .

    thanks again all.

    JP
