Question Artweaver or GIMP? or anything else?

    Hi.

I´ve just realised there was 2 softwares for digital painting that was FREE!

Now I did use Photoshop cs 2 a couple of years ago, but didnt have the money to buy it because its so expensive for private use. then i also used trial for Painter X, and now used trial for Painter 12....

And suddenly I found Artweaver that was all Free. and the same day i found GIMP... And i was like heeeey which one is the best?

So now im going to try these 2... and see wich one is the better one for my using.

Now I wonder if anyone can give some advice about this, maybe give me a few hints if you are experienced with any of these Softwares. And if you know any Software that may be better and maybe free/cheap. Please post here in this thread.

I will try and explore these 2 aswell and post about them here aswell.

This one is made in Artweaver, (NOT finnished piece.) if you dont know what you see its a Masked man with great beard....

I use GIMP and love it, it's my main platform for digital work.

Anyone know of something that will work on an ancient MacBook? like OS X 10.4

Not particularly computer savvy and getting a little frustrated with trying to figure stuff out.

I use MyPaint. It works on Mac too, using macports. But if you don't know your way around computers very much it could be hard.

Alternatively they have a different experimental mac build, but that one has no pressure-sensitivity support yet from what I read.
