Pages from my brown sketchbook. Find it very nice for drawing creatures and characters because of its midtone.
Many of the sketches are produced quite quickly, with the aim of experimenting character designs and anything that comes to mind.

Here are some live potraits done at a local portrait drawing event.
Usally a pair of people will sit for 20mins and people can draw them I usually do 2, each A4, trying to capture likeness in short amount of time.
I sometimes use copic and sometimes watercolours... these are the leftover unsold stuff T-T

Oh wow! So stylish, everything is full of life and the lines are squeaky clean. Very inspirational. The market enviro and the blue/purple/green one are movingly beautiful. Two questions:

First of all, kinda silly question, but what type of pen/pencil are you using on the earthbound sketchbook? Is that just HB?

Secondly, anything here you can share your process on?

These are all great, I'm especially fond of complex-looking robot concepts, and the ones in your most recent post are awesome!

How often do you draw and for how long? (+ all of Suprore's questions)

you have a fan here, great stuff.

    Hi Suprore And RyanBarett

    Thanks alot for looking!
I use a 2b 0.5 Mechanical pencil on my brown earthbound book.

I usually draw from 10-15mins, for my more recent sketches... I think i work on capturing the lines as quickly so I don't really render as much anymore.
I do sketches every now and then and since they are quick ones i can fill up 2pages or more in a day of tiny quick ones. For the robots and environments, i use a gel pen on copy paper. I think I spend between 30-45mins for each.

And i will see how I cna share my though process here!

    Thanks!

    Thank you Fernteixeira!

Full Red: I think i did it very cross hatching, giving form to the shapes. I used a Pilot G Tec/ High Tec-C which gives a very consistent line. So I really shaded alot by crosshatching cleanly. I didn't really vary the weight of the line. Hope it sounds like it makes sense! Please let me know!

I have tried many mediums... but never pastel. Was keen on trying out something new so got myself a pastel set and did a study from reference. A4 sized pastel paper around 1 hour.

Your vibrant and bold colours has always been one of the stand out qualities of your paintings I think. Great use of pastels, always a medium I hated as a kid, very hard - maybe I should try again as an adult. Thanks for the inspiration, as ever - respect!
