    Teen Challenge 137: Vampire

    Teen Challenge 137: Vampire

    Teen Challenge 137: Vampire

    Topic
This week's topic is Vampire. And with that I'm talking about real vampires, not the sparkling old virgin ones.
I want vicious vampires ready to kill.
Vampires that want nothing more than to feast on human flesh.
The setting is up to you, everything from the classic gothic style to space vampires fighting aliens.
Just try not to overdo it.

    Focus
This weeks focus is mood, vampires are solemn creatures of the night except when their bloodlust grips them and they go into a frenzy.
Your piece should reflect that, dark somber mood or bloodthirsty "I want to suck all your blood" mood.

    Deadline
The deadline is Sunday 9th of October, 23:59 GMT

Hello, this is a wip of mine, I'm not sure if 'creatures' are allowed. It's supposed to be a vampire spider thing hidden in the tree I hope I'm not posting this is in the wrong thread or if I'm too low in terms of skill level - if I am, please inform me! Just looking for something fun to do really.

Another WIP, not sure if to take it farther creatively or just leave it be apart from refinements. We'll see, I have time to play and decide.

EDIT: I decided to actually add the spider up in the tree instead of it just peeking out Just incase the idea of it peeking out was too vague. Not going to post because I don't want to look like a spammer though.

@Tadas love the rendering and colors
@Ffanatic LOL but you forgot the sparkles

my try at this so far, I think a bit too stereotypical. also does the head seem too big to anyone else? maybe cuz I didn't finish the legs properly

cloudcan: shitdang girl. She can suck my blood anyday. /sticks out neck deliberately

tadas: Maybe add like, a blood trickling down his mouth or whatnot. Sure looks sweet. Good colour scheme.

Anyways, here's mah Lord Ruthven guys. Mphm. I was going more for an illustrative piece then a character sheet, though methinks I should've done otherwise but oh well. Risk, lose, and risk some more.

Curse you people and your beautiful rendering!

I wanted to win one of these before I turned 18, but this is my last chance and it doesn't look like that's going to happen. I'll be gone for the weekend so I'll try to finish this thing tomorrow.

swmry: I don't think there's an age limit or anything, this is just to compete and improve your skills. I don't think you picture looks half bad, but I wouldn't be able to tell it's a vampire and I can't tell where the highlights on the spider's ayes are coming from.

tadas: Awesome painting dude! I may be wrong but his crotch looks too low. This could be a matter of taste but the bottom of his jacket looks really ruffled, it's detracting from the impressiveness of the uniform. And make him more vampiric somehow, but that's been covered.

Ffanatic: haha what? I like the colors, but he doesn't seem to have a collarbone and his abs are shaped wrong. Use reference when you're painting, it seems like you made this up and I don't think you're quite ready to do that yet. Good luck at Uni!

cloudcan: This rocks! You make me feel sad for not painting more. I think you're right about the head thing, just finish her legs.

v-lkry: Looks great, awesome job on the cloth! I can't really tell he's a vampire though. Honestly without the context I would have almost thought it was fanart of this guy.

I'm trying to go for the bloodthirsty mood. My story is there are two scientists exploring a cave to research vampire bats, but one of them disappears suddenly. When his partner shines her light where he was she finds a vampire standing over his drained corpse, looking hungry for more. DUN DUN DUN!

Not likely to finish anything vaguely worthwhile, but here's a few little sketchies. First isn't particularly active or exciting but has a bit more story, but the second has a bit more gore and horror potential.

Vertical: I think you're good for TC this until you hit the big 2-0, that is, unless the 18 goal was a personal thing. Good luck either way.

Ffanatic: You got a giggle out of me. If you do go further with this, I'd suggest getting some good ref for "blue" skin. If you go blue like how you think of it, you'll get really weird looking results.

Wow, I lost track of time... here's a bit of a fiddle with the second sketchie. I really need to work on the arms in general. Rendering to come (if there's time).

    Thanks Pixie Trick!
Okay, this is as far as I can go. I'm not sure I'll be online when the finals thread is put up, hope posting it here is okay.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished entries, good luck everybody!
