    How's my progress?

    Welcome everyone!

There are many amazing and talented artists on here, so I finally decided to create my own sketchbook and reveal some of my artwork to you all, and I think I will be able to improve drastically looking at other peoples work and improvements.

I'm 20 years old and for my age I believe I need a lot practice to get to the level of a lot of people on this website, so plenty of critiques would be very helpful.

    No problem man,

You are using the Manage attachments box? have you specified your name in the copyright box, and the subcategories that it should be listed under? If it has uploaded correctly the name of the file should appear under the Manage attachments button on the previous page.

Looking forward to seeing your work

I thought it would be a good idea to break out of my comfort zone and try and sketch a little quicker this week. I have a lot more to post up, which I will do over the weekend, but I think these observations of photographs I sketched have turned out pretty good for me anyway, I'm already feeling an improvement in my quick sketching, all done in 10 minutes.

Here is a quick 20 minute study of the human skull, I'm trying to improve my anatomy and I believe this reveals how well my process is doing, I want more of this pastel paper! I'll do other angles of the skull this weekend as well.

Mainly focused on Loomis studies over the week, they've been extremely helpful, but here is what I've done this week, I think I'll swap back to moleskine paper after this weekend, fine grain paper just isn't great for me.

Quick sketch of Dexter after Loomis studies, really helped capture the gesture.

Here is some sketches and studies I've compiled this week, carried on with the Loomis head studies and moved on to drawing hands, I find hands very difficult but the Burne Hogarth's dynamic hands book really helped a lot, I preferred it to Loomis's approach anyway, really enjoyed sketching these, I might study how to draw the Human figure more over next week!Attachment 1342991

Then from imagination, not very good, but they were drawn straight after the Loomis studies.

Decided I will study arm and torso anatomy this week, here are some sketches I drew from Brigdman's constructive anatomy book today, I'll post a lot more up next weekend hopefully.

Finally have time to post the studies up I said I would practice, there isn't much sorry guys, I have to much college work to catch up on, so hopefully college won't restrict me from work I'm actually interested in if I finish it today/tomorrow. My Intuos4 came yesterday though! I had a little doodle time on it yesterday afternoon, I can't wait to post up some digital paintings on here, but here are the studies anyway. The one's on double pages took about 10-20 minutes each, and the two on the single page took about 5.
