    Marvellous Meditating Marmosets

    Looks like you can teach monkeys to control their own brain rhythm via neurofeedback.

    Hah, that's great! The only thing is that anticipating or desiring a marshmallow treat certainly isn't very meditative. Meditation in general is a means of trying to relinquish external validation. So, these monkeys are regulating their brainwaves, but they are not meditating.

    Well, I might argue that it isn't quite possible to stay in trance while thinking about marshmallows, so the monkeys are evidently able to anticipate a marshmallow without anticipating one!
