Pete Hidalgo Thanks, it was amazing! Thanks for your comment. I enjoyed doing those...
I have been mega slack with having work etc...I have only done these enviro today I have also been messing around with some swatches. Colour is really difficult so I am not going to upload my experiments...It's just a bunch of messy colour. Enviro are so difficult. However I do like the idea of the second one down on the left. I ran out of steam after only 3 :/
I want to try and work something up to a more finished state, So I think I will try and design the "magical stone" properly and draw out the enviro with real perspective etc and try and paint it up. I quite like the way it could go. Hopefully a more epic scale....we'll see.
dimi Thanks for dropping by. I appreciate your comment!!
here are today's. The portrait of the girl I quite enjoyed doing...and I like where it is going, but man, I just cant get that other eye to look right. I've been drawing and painting that one eye for over an hour now :/ Requesting help....anyone?
Tried painting more on ipad using ProCreate. Art Studio was used only to resize. Not sure which program I feel comfortable with. Sphere from imagination and portrait from. Using ipad is soo hard but soo much more fun...also wish I had a more precise stylus...
Many different things are going on here! Good to see!
I like the idw sketches a lot that you showed here. Especially the linework looks nice. Structure of the forms looks good too. This is even what you need to improve your heads. Try to get the grib of heads as a geometric form. Construct it, feel it in space, let it react to perspective. Start with the simple forms. Do tons of sketches with simple geometric shapes.
Maybe the videos of this guy can help you, if you don't know them already. They helped me a lot to understand complicate structures like noses with all their planes better. Study the overall head structure and the features. Your last profile painting is missing stuff like real eye sockets and cheeks. Try to draw the skull first and add everything else after you had the skull right. This is there I liked this video from sinix.
Maybe you can combine you digital painting studies even with more still lives. The pumpkins are a start, but concentrate much more on form and values. This is there you can get depth. I know it's hard at first and difficult to find a good start, but you can make it. Here is the right potential. Use it! =)
