Wacom Goodness - A4 or oversize?

    As above, so b'low.

I'm in the market for a platinum intuos2. I travel alot, and it looks like getting a standard A4 might be a bit easier to carry round. How big's the size difference? Is it enough that it would make for totally RAD pictures? And merit the extra encumbrance? (who the hell knows how to spell that word..?)

The bigger your Wacom, the better an artist you are.

It all depends, some artists prefer large ones and others small. If you plan to take it around with you, a small or mid sized one would suit you best. A 9x12 is nice if you just leave it in your studio.

yeah, I'm gonna go with the standard A4. Someone pointed out that it's good to keep the same ratio as what's on your screen, and as I have a 15" powerbook, it's going to be more or less identical to my screen space. That plus I know I'll have a major hassling lugging the thing round under one arm if I can't fit in my bag

If you can afford the bigger one, but don't know if you can carry it well enough, then buy the smaller one. As long as it is 6x8 or more, it shouldn't cramp you too much anyways.

About that screen aspect ration, I didn't think about that when I installed my A4 to my parents widescreen laptop..

It worked like a charm and didn't notice any problems at all.. I wouldn't worry too much about that, but yeah, overall an A4 is a good size to carry with you (though a bit too big to fit in a regular sized backpack).
