    Hello everyone

I just wanted to show anyone who is considering a career in Architecture the sort of images that get produced when doing up to detailed design, which is as far as the mass majority of projects go.
The fee's are quite tight during these early stages and many companies can't afford or have the time scope to spend a few days rendering a signal scene. So there are three types of images I produce.

The first type are my favorite these include thumbnail sketches and watercolouring also found on page 1 .These sadly are done on a rare occasion, thumbnails are about 20mins each and the watercolouring and photoshop for the lights and roof and take around 4 hours. I've been told you generally get more positive responses from clients as they are so used to just seeing GCI's. It's hard to come by Architects that can both transitional and CGI render because everyone just uses sketchup at University.

The second type which is done the most often are somewhat frustrating as they lack the spontaneity of speed painting and the watercolours but they have a very quick turn around and give clients who usually can't read plans and elevations something that indicated the material pallet in the room. I've had to do 16 of these in two days on occasions which leaves me worst for wear. They take between 2-4 hours

When enough time is given I produce these. They are sketchup models then lighting and glass/chrome materials are applied in Max and I add the textures and tweak the lighting in photoshop. Fiddling around with bumpmaps, textures and mapping just takes too long and i've never been able to work out how to do it properly. They take between 5-9 hours to do.
