    Character Turnaround Practice

So at the moment I am kind of taking little assignments from the great Kyle Marshall to help with my character design skills and this is a character turnaround, rough, not cleaned. I feel so rusty. I haven't done one one of these in so long .

Cat character Kyle Marshall (I just did the rough sketches).

    Shape Challenge

This is another shape challenge for the Deviantart club called Design-A-Character. I'm kind of getting the hang of vector art, but it's just tedious and requires time and patience. Let's see how long I will last with it before I start pulling my hair out.

Awesome variety, and life in your sets of characters. All of them have a great charm to them. I'm not sold on your digital rendering yet, but the design of your characters is really something. Great to look at. Cheers.

Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook, glad you like my stuff. I've been super busy recently but have just gotten around to uploading some of my animals as you requested. I'm currently working on a series of them to turn in to prints at the moment.

Loving your style by the way, checked out your blog as well. Some very good, strong improvement over the years. Keep it up.

    Face Charts

So my boyfriend's friend has a make up line and is creating a website and wanted me to make a face chart for people to apply different shades of eye shadow, lip stick, and blush. So here are the un-chosen ones that I thought I would post up (: .

Yo, thanks a lot for the comment! I'm liking the cartoons, the zodiac series was awesome!

I think you should be studying more than cartoons. Try to sneak some observational studies into your schedule, your knowledge of light seems a little shaky based on where you put your lights and darks on occasion. Do some still life and photo studies and movie stills and the like. To be frank, the texture overlays on your characters tend to look rough and unnatural, I like your flat shading a lot better.

Work on your proportions a bit too, you don't seem to have much control over how big or small you make things. I think it's really fun to use lovecastle's head drawing tool and exaggerate one of the head's features, caricatures are a really fun way to practice proportions! of course, do accurate drawings too.

It might be a good idea to study some old cartoons to learn how the masters did it. Do you have some favorite old cartoonists? I personally can't get enough of Fred Moore. Here's a couple links to some cartoon archives, I think they'd be worth checking out. living lines library, classic cartoons blog

Hope I wasn't too rude D: Good luck, keep drawing!
