Hey GH, solid start to a sketchbook, i like all your pencil renderings and anatomy studies, have you branched out beyond Hogarth? George Bridgman, Glenn Vilppu, Andrew Loomis? If not you should pursue those avenues for an even stronger foundation.
I like whats going on here so far, strong style and lines, hope to see you posting more often.
Also, regarding that scene in perspective, i blame it on a crappy composited matte painting with green screen actors, someone didnt know what they were doing.
nice sketches! the studies are looking good. hogarth has a nice method of breaking things up into working parts, but be careful with him too, sometimes he can come off as very stiff, almost robotic. i think maybe studying someone like george bridgeman can help offset this, as his shapes are all very flowing and fluid.
yea, i agree with Austen on the still shot too. it looks like they were going for a wide angle three point perspective, looking down. but it doesnt feel right to me either.

thanks, glad you liked my sketchbook! great updates! your anatomy is looking really good, some of your proportions seem to be a bit off in your full figure characters, but for the most part, its looking good. be cool to see some more of the imagination side of things too!
Your muscle studys are insane! X) so much great things in here!
it's been a while, but i've been drawing nonstop since. about everything here is done on iscribble, a few are from pchat. nothing is referenced except the tiger. going to upload traditional stuff later, screen shots are easy to upload
Hi ghost hardware, you have got some really cool stuff there! I particularly like your pencil drawings especially the crazy monsters and the lion. Looking forward to seeing more!
traditional stuff, nothing referenced expect the unfinished drawing of roxie and sauron at the bottom
I can't get over your stuff man, it's the fucking coolest. No real crits bcoz I SUCK. One thing that is bugging me though is that the pelvic regions of some of the male bodies you draw are really clunking looking. The hips/legs seem to meld into one shape and there's no real distinction between the 2. Might just be a style thing/personal preferance though /shrug
and that's actually a good observation, i do have a problem attaching the legs to the body, mostly a lack anatomical knowledge so i just improvise on placing the legs, but that is something i will be working on so thanks for pointing that out. for the longest time i've spent my time drawing torsos sometimes i even forget how to properly place the arms heh
not much time to draw today but this is what i did in the morning and during classes, i have a test to study for so sadly this is all the drawing ill get done for today
referenced roxie vizcarra's face in the 5th photo
stuff for today, all the notebook stuff done in math class, was browsing the library of congress's flickr looking up photos of civil war soldiers and the stuff in the attached images are studies from american vampire drawn by sean gordan murphy
Your style is so raw and powerful in a really great way, I love it! It really makes all your demons look very imposing. You should look up Richard MacDonald's sculptures. I saw a gallery of his work in Vegas and was blown away by how powerful everything was. Your stuff reminds me of his "Bullwhip" sculpture in particular.
Keep up the good work!

tiny update today, but i do want to try and update everyday. gridded rose for art class homework, i'm halfway through, but it's taken me a few hours which is probably more than it should be taking but i'm relatively new at rendering. oh and another solid snake for the sake of.
thanks guys for the kind words.
@artminded very very nice sculptures it does remind me of my current attempts at anatomy
Nice sketches ghost, its nice to see that you're consistently getting some nice range in values. I'd love to see more life studies, whether figures or still life. Maybe even some more varied body types in your studies. Also gotta mention, as far as abs go, its actually very rare that the "packs" match up perfectly side by side. If you look closely at many male models you'll notice they are slightly staggered, because it provides a more sturdy abdominal wall for support.
Righteous! YOur sketch of the people on the bridge (form Frankenstien if I'm not mistaken) is my favourite. As far as the perspective lines go, I don't see a problem with them. If anything you forgot to add the horizon line where the perspective points meet but it looks right. The fact that you can eyeball it well is the MOST important thing!
Also like the anatomical studies further up the page, you have a great grasp of male anatomy.
Also check these out, it's about exaggerating dominant shapes ---> Darkstalkers, World Record, and Redline:
ghost, are you in high school? i had to do those gridded hw exercise things last semester as well
awesome updates though man. really digging those civil war studies. roxie vizcarra is also a fuckn babe, her art's great
blowing off steam drawing whatever

@ThabisoMhlaba thank you, mann i wish i could do live model studies. i agree on the abs, i just do it as a stylized kind of thing, i like the way it looks. im just focusing on actually putting the body together and once thats done ill focus on realism within my figures, thanks for the crits.
@danomatic thank you. thanks for the videos especially the animatrix one, that was awesome
@Radchenko hey whats up nice to see you again, nah i'm in my first year of college im trying to transfer to art school though
haha yeaa im heavily influenced by her ink work

I'm really digging the creatures and that partially rendered face above the sphere!
I'll be back.
@radchenko hey! thanks it really means a lot, i'm going to try and transfer to OTIS here in los angeles
i've been getting lazy with the updates. it's hard to juggle life school and art, i guess i have a problem managing my time
well heres some batman, metal gear solid, and wonky anatomy, i should really consider doing full works instead of pure sketching
no references used
Nice sketchbook ! I really like your pencil work. No crits I'm afraid (I don't feel qualified to crit, hehe) but can't wait to see more your stuff!!
Please drop by my sketchbook and help me improve!
Really good anatomy sketches! Sad you have just one page. Is more coming? I hope so!
Hey dude, great to see you updating again! You've really stepped up your game since i saw you last. Anatomy is extremely nice and solid, i agree you should do some more finished work, i image it would be fantastic~!
No real crits, you're lookin' good man, keep it up!
some more anatomy, a gridded study only using dots for one of my classes, and the 8th picture has a pose referenced from garry brown
will respond later!
