@Denzel: Thansk! Good luck with your studies.
@Ambiguity: I liked how that came out too. I should do more work like that.
Tonight studies - more clothing, and some environments based on the monochrome palette of one of last night's sketches. Also a bust of David, who hasn't been getting much love this week. I really want to get one of those planar heads.

Great studies and I like your idea of doing a whole buncha small studies.
The blue background works way better than the grey BTW, but with the palette you're using, I feel a dull red would work great too.

I like the idea of using a dull red. I tried it in today's landscape sketch.
A few random things today, mainly playing with long thin brushes and manually controlling the angle (for the most part). I want the strokes to be pretty clear, so they're set to pressure flow (instead of pressure opacity) as I tend to do a lot lately:
I did a dog study based on a photo, a landscape, a space ship that's meant to resemble an animal head, and a creature bust with some turtle influences.

'hoy! Nice meeting you at the sketch crawl. Your work looks even better in person, real crisp lines. (:

Thank you for stopping by my sb and droppin some knowledge on me. I have been pretty apathetic towards art lately but looking through your sb the past couple of days, has reinvigorated my spirits to tackle my shortcomings. Your work ethic is something to be emulated and There is a real sense of enjoyment in your work that is refreshing

Thank you all for the comments. It was great meeting you too halkure. I forgot to ask before - do you post your work anywhere?
My girlfriend wants me to come to bed so I'll have to give everyone a proper response tomorrow.
I had a great time at the sketchcrawl - definitely worth the trip. I'm pissed though - I forgot my art supply bag at a restaurant just before leaving town. Luckly I took some shots earlier of the sketches, and my friend Mae has agreed to help me get it back. I'll post some things tomorrow as well. :-)

@wutangclam: Thanks. I mainly look at my sketches, identify a weakness, and come up with a couple ways to isolate the problem area for practice.
@QPK: Keep at it! You've got some good studies there.
@Jaik: Thanks! I find that working small lets me work faster and also helps me focus more on the general shapes of things instead of getting lost in fine details.
@Mr.Ebony: Thanks. Go for it. It certainly feels like it's helping me improve.
Here are the sketches from the crawl. I did some others the day after, but they were in my art bag so that will have to wait until I have it back.
