    Conquerrisk's sketchbook

I'm not too new around here, but this is still my first post. I'm kind of unsure about how the image attachment thing works, so I apologize if that takes me a couple tries to sort out. I drew this from a statue of Hermes. Here I go:

    Marsyas

I felt that I should try to post in this thing regularly for at least two consecutive days. My drawing skills, however, did not empathize with me on this, so it took a while to get something I was pleased with enough to scan in and upload.

Welcome (sort of) to CA! (I lurked here for years before posting, so I know what you mean. =D)

It'd be cool if you introduced yourself properly - what's some of your other work, what's your level of experience?

    Thanks for the welcome

I really should have given myself more of an introduction. As for my level of experience, I consider myself a noob because I never spent enough time (or any, really) on the basics like light and perspective. I've mostly concerned myself with figure drawing, because it's what fascinates me and draws me in the most. And as for the other work I've done, it's, well, beginner figure drawing.

    horse tamer

This drawing is from two days ago. Time slipped away yesterday and I never posted it. I think this will be all I'll post today. Tomorrow, however, please expect something with two days' effort in it.

    a picture I started yesterday

This is really yesterday's drawing. I just rushedly finished with it today so I could play with my sleek, gorgeous, easy, new tablet. More on that a bit laterName: pencilpainting.jpg

    This week's stuff

The first image is a self portrait. It's not what I actually look like, despite that I drew it directly from what I saw in the mirror. The problem was that while my face was at an angle as I looked up at the mirror, I drew myself as if I were looking straight ahead. Thus, the features are distorted and look bolder and more angular than the reality.
I drew the boobs, but then erased them, which I suppose fits, considering that the picture is more of an ideal version of myself than a document of my true physical attributes.
The second two pictures are just sketches of people I know.

unless its your scanner, your line quality needs alot of work, perhaps try drawing large-singular lines, and not 50 small scratchy sketchy lines...
take your time, a study can take quite a well, make sure your observing it for a good reason, not just trying to "mimic"..goodluck
