Last attempt to post a sketchbook never showed up. Again with attatchments? This is all from the few couple days.
My name's joseph, i want to be a concept artist, i need to get better. I didn't draw much for the last year, and then about a month ago i just dove back in, i've been drawing as much as i can fit in every day since. Trying to make up for lost time.
Crits and feedback very appreciated. I'd love direction and advice from anybody who's willing to provide it.
Chronological order. Most of these are from imagination, a couple are studies from pictures.

very cool, you are on the right track with anatomy. i like the girl ^, one crit is her big toe on the right foot is on the wrong side and she looks a bit off balance. keep on posting
Thanks dude! Oh man, how did i miss that!? that's ridiculous!
Updates from last night and this afternoon. The three on the left in the big image are super fast/rough photo studies.

Quick, sloppy, and nice! I'd love to see some polished sketches. Do you take figure drawing classes or equivalent? If not, try to find series of the same model making different poses - make fifteen 1-minute sketches of each, then three 5-minute sketches of a couple more and finally a single 15-minute sketch of a single pose.
Try this with different mediums. Especially those you are uncomfortable with Keep it up!
How fortunate the man with none..
Sketchbook - Crits are painful, but love hurts. Pride is but a bitter vice and humility is a virtue.
Hey dude, thanks! Good idea, i don't do near enough more polished sketches. Will definitely get on that today or tomorrow. Here's something i spent a little more time on from august:
I find it really frustrating to work longer on pieces, because i'm constantly wanting to improve and working fast and moving on is the best way to sate that. Definitely something i need to work on.
great start! that girl with a horn on the head really called my attention, a nice pose and interesting expression, you should work on it! keep going!
Really nice start! I totally think that you're gonna improve a lot here
See you around mate
You said my pencils are sweet. But I think your digital is rad!
Dude, these are some delicious images you're making. As stated above I'd like to see more polish/rendering in your works. Right now I feel like you're great at working fast & loosely, but if you were able to condense your light into a laser beam you'd be killer-- Assuming that analogy makes sense lol.
hey man u work loosely! and have great ideas.. u can work more body perspective... box perspective ftw

Thanks a bunch guys!
Dirgeance - I know, I have a really hard time settling down and polishing a piece, It's definitely a hurdle I need to jump before I can be successful as an artist
Fernteixeira - Thanks! Will do.
Just a little traditional junk from tonight. I'm really uncomfortable working traditionally and it shows.
Like many have said I think your sketches are full of energy. Loose sketches are really important! Also would like to see tighter sketches soon! You have an idea of things, just need to work on tighter sketches i think.. =)

Thank you man. I will definitely keep trying to work on that. I only draw in very manic ways, it's definitely something i struggle with.
Started thinking about CHOW
And then some drawings. Learning to use markers, and trying to practice drawing slooooooower. Just throwaway doodles.

I like your sketchbook! Lots of good stuff and your character designs are really cool.
Some of you characters are slightly out of proportion though and you seem unsure about the placement of feet, study the loomis book "drawing for what its worth" to help you understand figures, you can find it online and it's very helpful if you give it sometime, i'm still going through it myself
I like your imagination drawings.
Thanks for the comment.
You have great stuff so far, I like the designs.
Maybe you could use some anatomy drawing books, there are cool ones from George Bridgman and Burne Hogarth, I'd really recommend Hogarts "Drawing the human head".
Keep working hard.
Tried for a likeness, failed it. :p
Thanks guys! Heix, yeah, i need to study my anatomy books more, i've got bridgman already. Ill pick up that hogarth book soon -- i have his one on hands, and it's awesome.
edited in another one.
