Erik nice update! you have come a long way! I was going to tell you to keep your paintings more neat but your newest study shows a lot more clarity! good! glad you caught on to that. I really like the looseness of your sketchings! you have a good grasp on gesture drawing. If I can add anything, I would say keep refining on your anatomy. You seem to be headed in the right direction! keep it up sir!

just some crappy shit
November 26th, 2011 #105
I must admit, i didn't draw much today. Started the day by turning on Skyrim BIG MISTAKE!!!. Did some posemaniac though and a crappy DOODLEEHZdx. So here's some of the posemaniac, 60 sec each, a poorly rendered piece (top one) and 2 weapon practices. Which was all done today. Didn't include everything though. Drew a chair + some clothing while watching a movie and other things that doesn't matter.
Propably the last time I'll post this much at once. Takes too much time to edit all the sketches in photoshop.
I'm sorry if you expected something good.

Such a good improvement in here Erik, I need to work as hard as you. Your anatomy on the legs are starting to improve a lot! they were too short on previous posts but the last couple of posts you seem to be fixing it naturally now, and that digital character in #102 is looking awesome, maybe mess around with some textured brushes or something? might give it a different atmosphere, good stuff man.

BenjaminJL92: Thanks dude. I'll certainly try to do that, good tip ;D.
So here's my newest speed painting before sleep (might work on it tomorrow too). Also wanted to show how crappy my sketch was, which i found to be kinda funny XP.
I'm also doing 100 hands cause i suck at drawing them, will propably post some of them aswell, whenever i feel comfortable enough . I also feel like my paintings are "kinda" repetitive, need to work on that.
Needsss some sleep now so that i can do a 1h posemaniac session before school Good night..

Creepy guy. I didn't want to make a new thread about this so i'll just ask it here. How do I know if I'm ready to do some freelance gigs? I guess i'm not even close to get any jobs but whatever. Hope to see some answers :s

Hey, thanks for the comment! Nice studies, I like the values and colors in your paintings.
It might be better to ask if you're ready for freelancing in the Art discussion thread, I think you'd be more sure to get an answer...I'd say you're about there, but what do I know. You seem to do all figures, I think you should be practicing some other stuff too. Have you put together a portfolio to show potential clients? You could try to get some jobs in the job section here and just see what happens.
Keep up the good work!

Fetsch: Thanks, means a lot. ;D
jonafunart: Thank you kind one. I will certainly try not to :p.
I feel like i need to do more studies. But here's a speedpainting which i hope I will bring to final. Where that is I have yet to explore.
About the freelance stuff. After reading some nice comments on the thread i made I've realized that I don't want to start my career in this field doing sucky work for people. I might try it out sometime soon, whenever i can do stuff that looks somewhat professional. Not gonna happen over a night.
Damn people are so good, i need to work harder gretijerotseldfsgcv.
And yeah feel free to tear it apart.

Experiment: It's actually the picture above. I only just went crazy with it, pretty much.
Edit:added another experiment . Tried out to start with color this time. ( i know his anatomy is OFF) And the creature is just fucked up, i wouldn't want to be him XP. Basically trying to play around with different shapes.

I really like the colors in those two guys from November 6th.
Mission Control: "Buckaroo, The White House wants to know is everything o.k. with the alien space craft from Planet 10, or should we just go ahead and destroy Russia?"
Buckaroo Banzai: "Tell him yes on one and no on two."
Mission Control: "Which one was yes, go ahead and destroy Russia... or number 2?"

Great coloring and use of values. I particularly like the character doods.
It would be cool to see a more polished illustration from you.
Keep it up!
