    yet another question for the pros

    Say you're about to do a fairly detailed work for fun/practice. you're going to draw a scene that popped into your head reading a novel or something. how much reference do you use? is all that realistic human drawing i see going on simply because you've studied anatomy so long you know it inside out, or do you look for photos of similar poses to what you're painting? this has been bugging me for a while, though I'm sure everyone does it differently...
    art is fun and addictive. like coffee. I like coffee too.
