    Need artist support

I've just launched a website that I have been working on for a while where artists can go and display their work.

The website is based around social networking and here are some of the features:

    • Create a profile
    • Upload your work
    • Advertise your help, assistance, business, location
    • Create groups
    • Write how-to guides
    • Discuss anything
    • Send messages to other users

    and much more.

The site is in the beginning stages at the moment, so I would love all the support of the artists here to come over and set up a profile.

Every person is appreciated, thank you!

Any questions or comments can go here or you can message me on my site.

I WANT MY SITE TO STAND OUT IN THE CROWD SO SUGGESTIONS AND CRITICISM ARE WELCOME.

The galleries are in user profiles under "album."

*edit: Updated the home page message to help with that.

And why--exactly--do we need another site to do this on?

I doubt you'll be doing it better than the other sites out there, so if you want to make it then you need to focus on doing something different than everyone else. Just something to think about.

Because this site is mainly for advertising your work.

It's a nice and clean way to organize it while focusing on the networking side.

And don't worry, more features are coming, I'm working a job to pay a code monkey to help develop my more interesting ideas.

I'm posting my work at... wait, let me count it in my bookmark folder... 22 different communities and forums (whoa, I just surprised myself). Those are all artist communities.

It's a lot of work keeping them updated. Any other gallery that goes into my bookmarks better be REALLY damn good :]

Like I said, there are plans.

But are there any suggestions on something you might like to see?

Faster loading of pictures. I checked twitter and back here twice before one loaded.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

    Check these out too:

"The difficult part is continuously realizing when you've stopped enjoying the process, and re-aligning yourself. It's kind of like meditation/being an art ninja..." ceddo
