This is the first of a set of three dinosaur images I'm creating for my portfolio. A T-Rex on the hunt. This piece was done in PS using Wacom Intuos4. Took almost a week, at least 25 hours. As a self taught artist I'm trying to evolve with each artwork. In other words, I think that my art matures with each project. Especially when the project is challenging.
Comments are gladly welcome!
I think it's fantastic! I like the way the focus is on the head at the center. Are the smaller theropods supposed to be anything in particular? Something in the Ornithomimosaur family?
Thanks for your comment Dahami!
The small ornithomimosaurs are gallimimus. Like T-Rex, they're from the late Cretaceous period.
Here's a walkthrough of the t-rex...

Wow, this is incredible. Love the energy and movement. Your rendering is top notch. Must have taken forever. Did you seriously do it scale by scale?!
T-Rex took 10-12 hours. The whole pic took 24-25 hours split in a week.
Nice piece! I think the depth of field works well in places, but the creatures look a little 'cut-out' elsewhere and I wish they had a bit of motion-blur or something to take improve that. Otherwise, good skills.
You're right about the cut-out edges. It's because I use paths to create a form instead of just painting it. Maybe the feather should be higher or I should just quit paths.
And here's the second image, a stegosaurus.
