    semi-automatic plastic birds & you: a sketchbook

Hello. These are some of my sketches.
I met someone from the game industry a while ago who referred me to here to help bust my ceilings and grow as a digital artist. I want to design characters and creatures for films and games.

My problem areas are definitely with people. I only started really drawing people about 2 years ago, and I feel that I learned art a little backwards, doing cartooning first instead of realism. Unlearning using lines is really difficult for me and I'm having problems getting rid of my lines and busting out of a stylised environment.

I've got a ways to go and I'm working hard to pump more realism into my work and sketch less 'cleanly.' With effort, feedback and determination anything and everything is possible!

This T-Rex is a thing I worked on for my portfolio.

I want to show off this dragon, amidst my older stuff. This one was done last week.

    explosion

    Boom.
I much prefer drawing people and animals, but I thought I'd try an explosion. I saw a picture in a book of mine and tried to copy the organic, scratchy feeling of it.

    more sketches

Playing around with developing a character. Still trying to nail down his facial features before committing to anything more than a loose sketch.

    The Monkey King WIP

Working on something new for my portfolio.
I'm very unsure on how to edit galleries for this site.

I'm incredibly stuck on this image.
