Benjaminbach's Sketchbook Unfoldments
EDIT: NEWEST PICTURE IN BOTTOM/NEXT PAGE
Hiy you everyone!
After havin' been inspired by a podcast by Bobby Chiu, I felt like it was time to show some of all the scribbles and ideas I'm creating, in the hope of being even better in the future. This both to show and follow my progress for myself, and hopefully inspire some of you guys - but also to get some critique and helpful advice to lead me to do even better stuff! (so feel free to let me know what you think).
I'm going to put up various stuff from my sketchbook, not necessarily from the same pages but very likely mixed things from different pages putted together. I'm also going to feature some life drawing as I enjoy life drawing, studies and traditional drawing aswell (just recently finished a half year of Classical Drawing, in a week attending The Animation Workshop here in Viborg, Denmark (Computer Graphic Artist-line).
So, here goes (first sketchbook-pages, then lifedrawing also made in the sketchbook)
Hope you like it!

A lil update again

Ooooooh, definitely keeping an eye on this one. Your drawings are very... organic & playful, I guess, are the words that come to mind. I really enjoy your creatures.
I'm a little confused as to what's going on with that rhinocerous guy's head, the last one in your second post. Is that a horn, a nose, or a giant tongue?
Keep it up, this is an interesting start!

Great figures, i like the flow of them! They are a bit rough but definitely have a flow on them!
The linework is much promising, keep working on how to smooth em up a bit!

Hiya littlebones and Knut! Thanks for your comments - very appreciated.
Regarding that rhinocerous guy littlebones, infact I had the exact same talk/discussion when I showed it to a good friend(who also draws). He thought the eye was one specific place, and that the horn-like thing was hair - while I had imagined the eye to be somewhere else, and this horn-thingie actually being, yes, a horn. Thing is that the line quality of it fades and indicates it's something soft, while a horn would be rigid, hard - so I guess I was in doubt myself heh.
The picture below here should show it. My friend thought the eyes was somewhat "hidden" beneath this giant horn-thing, as seen on number 1. I personally wanted the eye to be like on the picture number 2, but since the eye is in a "hole" of some sort, it wouldn't be able to see anything So...I'll keep this in mind next time I place and design these kind of things.

I immediately fell in love with your second work. Don't you just love the sand and greyish colors combined with solid sketching lines
Awesome, please keep this SB updated

Thought I'd share some more stuff, this time more digital stuff, since that's what I've had time to work with recently, at my new school. The first picture was an experiment to do a background scene in a new format and use much more texture and reference, rather than paint so much. Last three pictures is backgrounds for a 30-sec short movie my group's working on at the school.

Time for a little recent stuff! Some creaturebox-inspired head-fun, some life drawing and some landscape-study from reference picture.
Advice would be appreciated!
