    Thanks so much, Rustveld!

I really wish they would sort out the uploader crap... it eats all my sketches (low file size?)

Cool sketchbook! Great studies, nice skintones and the personal pieces look good too.

Also, I think the latest CHOW looks pretty good, but I don't think the foreshortening of her right leg reads at all. It looks like she has one really short leg. Anyway, great stuff. Keep it up : D

Hey, you've been busy! I really love that purple and orange landscape, it's gorgeous! I think you're on to something with those skin textures on that last figure study, it's a great way to break up the smoothness.

Also, you are quite possibly the only other person I have seen on here so far who uses Wordpress instead of Blogger, so I will take this opportunity to subscribe to your blog.

Bougerau study looks fantastic and that technique study/test in #425 really caught my eye. Really digging it!

    kidult: Thank you!

Papu: Thanks! Glad you like the skintones. I always struggle so much with those, especially without reference.

ClockworkLives: Always busy, yes Thanks for subscribing, your blog is lovely too No idea why Blogger seems to be more popular, I love wordpress.

    Ville_S: Thanks a lot, I will!

good post! you've been super busy

A good way to compare coloured tonal stuff to a grayscale value study is to squint your eyes. It's easier to see blobs of dark or light without your brain getting all over stimulated.
    happy sketching keep it up!

wow great thread. Thanks for posting on my sketchbook, a bit surprise since my sketchbook was almost dead. Great studies, I'm especial fond of the hands and feet studies you did a while back, and your recent studies really show your commitment and determination(makes me feel like a lazy bum)

The only critique I have at the moment is your chow entry. The leg proportion seem a bit short compare to the rest of the body, its hard for me to tell since my sense of leg proportions isn't that great(I do mine too long). The real problem I think is the attempt at foreshortening the upper leg, if your intention was to have the leg coming forward than that angle of the leg and the way it tapers at the knee counteracts the illusion of foreshortening, or if that was your intended angle then the leg shouldn't of been that short since at that angle (relatively vertical) there shouldn't have been that much foreshortening.I hope my critique was accurate and not too confusingly written.Best of luck with your sketchbook.

E.P Ramirez: Thank you for the feedback!
You're right about the ChoW entry - that's really a severe case of a failed attempt at forshortening! Thanks for the explanation, because I myself could only see it's wrong, but not why exactly it was wrong. So it's good to know for the next time. Will have to practice more

More imagination thumbs. The worse it looks, the more I tried to leave my comfort zone, and the more time it took me :p

The legends were right that there will come a child with special powers and abilities. You
came with full arsenal of surprise, and I see that allmighty child in you. Yes, in you. Your
drawing and painting abilities got increased in a sudden superb fashion. Your excellency
has proven its worth and power. You’ve tripled your pace, your painting session got more
meaning than before, cause you are focused now, you are totally in the domain of the correct
happening. Just like Rocky went up to the mountains to train, you’ve became the same, sharp
as a bullet, fast as a knife, you are conquering everything with your beautiful eyes. As I watch
some of your portraits, it’s too obvious that you’ve skyrocketed with your qualities and with
your color understanding. I would like you to continue growing in this way, cause you are
becoming something positively peculiar, and the sky is the limit now. The sky is the limit for you.
