Hi Everyone! It's been awhile since I last posted anything. I've been really busy with school and been doing many many still life and anatomy studies. I've filled 2 sketchbooks in the last 2 months maybe.
The following is a photo reference study of a female face after countless hours of doing planes and skull studies.
The rest are still life studies done in charcoal on 18x24 inch drawing paper followed by some anatomy (done from memory) and a planes and skull still life.
Here is a Master Study followed by my other studies.
My study week breakdown:
M= Figure and Anatomy
T= Head Planes, Skull, & Muscles
W= Perspective, Form, light, etc...
Sun= Master Study
Thanks for looking and have a good weekend everyone.
Here's another week of studies. Nothing digital this time.
I've started studying perspective using 'Vanishing Point' by Jason Meyer. I found the Loomis stuff hard to start off with.
I'm trying to do a lot of gesture and life drawings.
It may not be high quality right now but I'm not spending much time on rendering, just trying to understand the fundamentals a bit better, and anatomy of course.
A slow week of studies. I missed my perspective day due to the holiday but the fun I had makes up for it.
I think I'm going to incorporate a landscape day into my routine. Backgrounds need lovin' too.
The top painting was referenced for the emotion. (I'll be doing more with expressed emotions.)
It's been a few since I've posted but I've been really busy working on this short Graphic Novel in a collaboration with a friend of mine who wrote it (Matthew Meyers). This has been a great study on composition and dramatic lighting and many other things. I had to fight not to actually paint scenes every time.
