    Learning to see

    Hi all

    I'm learning the skill without going to art school. so any crits/comments are most welcome. This image is just to get thread started, but if you want to comment on it, fire away.

    Hi , welcome here.
    I like your watercolour portraits ! Nice use of colour there (just my opinion)
    if u want a crit i'd say you should do more careful in your 3/4 portraits view . your last mouse maybe need a line construction first before moving to the details .

    Hi Charlie D, nice start.
    Your portraits are very creative, especially your use of colour.
    However, your still lifes are more accurate than the portraits so it might be a good idea to try to draw people from real life (or photographs) rather than from imagination. Your third portrait (man with hood) has a great atmosphere but if he didn't have a hood on a good chunk of his head would be missing.
    Maybe you could draw from anatomy books to master the features/proportions of the head.
