News outlets are the best way to do this, I agree. Unless these people have registered their works with the government, they will have very little legal recourse, not to mention the legal fees for taking this guy to court will probably be way more than they'll get unless they can prove how much money he has made off of them. (Exactly what has happened to me in the past). It would be good to see the artists band together though with one lawyer, sort of a private class action lawsuit if that's even possible.

It makes sense that an art thief wouldn't want to take the time to really write his own books, so not surprisingly it turns out his "creative warriors walk alone" book has content that has been lifted off of Cameron S. Foote's book: "The business side of creativity"

Here are the links to the person investigating it if anyone is interested:
    http://live-momma.livejournal.com/337303.html
    http://live-momma.livejournal.com/337590.html

After doing some searching it looks like some people have been calling senator Lieberman's office too (since chad is his nephew, I think).

I should clarify that it's just another one of his claims. Of course, judging by how much he has lied about everything I would venture to guess it's probably not true.

There should be like a clandestine art police that dedicates to search and destroy art thieves, how could would that be...

-We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.

-Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon 'em.

Oh Chad. Writing an article about copyright! You silly, silly Chad.
And, of course, it's a direct copy/paste from here: http://www.artbusiness.com/copyright...r-artists.html
Because irony is completely lost on people like Chad. Or maybe the whole thing is some elaborate postmodern appropriation art, and this is really metacommentary.

The customer testimonials from those who bought reproductions were very positive. Previous to my initial alert, I spent a number of hours researching this, to make sure that art was being stolen and sold. Prints and canvas reproductions were being sold and a press release announced the completion of a sale of the licensed rights to 4300 works. Since my initial post, each of the links has gone dead, been dismantled and most signs of commerce removed. The site is back up, without the smoking gun. I also understand, from some trusted sources that this guy has a history of doing this. I am concerned about protecting my fellow artist's rights and the concerns of any "attentionwhore" are truly unworthy of my attention.

Where is he getting the high resolution source files for print and for his 'clients' who license the artworks?

He sold licensed rights to 4300 works and no one did demand a high resolution image?
Customer testimonials, he could write them himself, its his site.
Press release, that's what he writes himself as well.

Most artists struggle selling their own prints on professional websites at all, i find it hard to believe that he can do so well selling prints of low res jpg files he collects on DA.

To me the scam is way to obvious and if he sold any prints or rights he sure deserves punishment but IMO he is just trying to generate bad publicity.

Steal a car, no one will give a shit, steal a artwork from someone and in a week you will be all over the internet.

Thanks to artist Deirdre Reynolds, she has a list http://dlr4553.deviantart.com/journa...Scam-253477205 going on DeviantArt of all the pieces from "art4love" that artists have identified as their own. There are works from Massive Black and CA as well as pieces yet to be identified. A link to 500 screen shots is on Deirdre's page.

Imagine that, Joe Lieberman's nephew, a trust fund baby, stealing from working artists.

I'd been searching for a couple of hours and this guy is like the Bernard Maddof of Art Thievery, it's out of all proportion. I'm still surprised that anyone noticed before that all "his work" had diferent styles, tecniques and skills levels.

Even one of his books is a copy from Foote's The Business Side of Creativity!!

    http://live-momma.livejournal.com/337590.html

This guy is a walking joke.

I think that I found something even better.

This man http://assurnasirpal.deviantart.com/from DA do a EXTRAORDINARY work:

I saved all images from the original site. Since it was taken down I decided to list them for anyone wanting to help identify the artists. The link to Google Image Search under each image might help with that.
Clicking on any image will open up the fullsize image.
I also saved the product information sites but I'm not putting them online due to lack of bandwidth.

In total there are 4252 images.
    Here is the link: http://aoxa.homeip.net/index1.html

I hope this helps and doesn't use up all of my bandwidth.

What a joke this guy is. He's gonna need that testicle insurance now I hope.

Looks like this thing is going viral, hope mainstream media picks up on it. This douche looks like tabloid fodder so guess it's only a matter of time.

I was reading an interview of him. He said that he was good at art ever since he was six years old and has been compared to Michelangelo even though he never had any form of an art education. I feel this is just a large slap in the face for artist everywhere.
