Not sure how to approach this one..

    Hey all,

Basically I've been asked to design a website header for a Glasgow based Vampire LARP (Live Action Roleplay) group. I've had a few interesting ideas. Discovered a whole world of pre-made photoshop brushes and generally it's been really fun.

I would be really thankful if someone looked at my initial doodles and gave me some advice. I've done logo design before and we do 3D stuff as part of our course but I've never actually done any web design. So I'm not entirely sure what angle to approach this one from.

So here's the first design idea and here's the second.

    Thanks

    Thoolhoo.

The second one definately appeals to me a lot more, Im digging the type font and also the glowing arcane runes. There is more depth in the text, though perhaps the text is a little obscured by the glow of the rune in the centre. The first design just doesn't do it for me, maybe its too dark. On a side note, make sure to credit the original creators of the custom brushes, otherwise you could end up in trouble. Pretty cool anyways

Thanks for the comment mate. I've sent this one and this one to the client. Just waiting for replies at the moment. Let me know what you this of them.

And yeah, I realise how crap the first attempt was xD

PS: Yeah, I'm quite bad at not crediting the makers of brushes and stock photos. But this time I went as far as commenting on everyone's page thanking them. Took a while.

They chose the first design. I'm confused.

Sorry for repost but I thought it'd be better to post actual images rather than links.

    They chose this one:

    Over that one!

Not sure how to approach this one..
    Why? :/
