Hi Folks, I still ain't got enough of Star wars... Therefore here's another bunch of sketches as well as a bird-of-prey study. Nevertheless I recognize I should take it a bit slower for my studies.

Alter!

Hey! you've got quite a range here. Some of these are looking really loose and natural, while others look like you are tightening up and really losing the overall structure. I would just encourage you to loosen up, don't worry about the details, just draw from the elbow and get those smooth fast lines going on.
As far as color.. it takes time and practice. A little knowledge is needed, but when it all comes down to it, just paint paint paint. Really, it comes down to YOU having your own understanding of how light and color play, and being comfortable with whatever medium to translate those colors to the canvas. That only comes with lots and lots of practice. So, I would say, if you're in the mood to play with color, capitalize on that mood and just play with it as much as you can. A resource that really helped me when I was just starting with color is right here: www.worqx.com

You have line quality that I dream about. Keep up the amazing work!
On painting: I'm a total beginner, but I can tell you one thing, and that is always work from large brush to small brush. The painting exercise above looks way too busy, and it doesn't simulate the real tones of the leg. A bigger brush will help you keep consistency without going nuts.

Nice, it seems that you're practicing, also your animals are better than other things. If you want to improve on anatomy, I would recommend watch some anatomy books, proportionts, figure, and that kind of stuff, and then draw from real life or sometimes with photo reference. It helps a lot!
Anyways, keep going mate !
