See, a good action flick is an art unto itself.

To create one takes more than most would think.

Way of the gun, nice title, interesting concept. Shit movie! There is a why though (if I were in college I could write a dissertation on it!) but won't ramble about it.

Out for Justice, is an action flick of its era so to judge it's quality in hindsight is wrong.

That other flick I'll have to look at when I get home.
"Everything must serve the idea. The means used to convey the idea should be the simplest and clear. Just what is required. No extra images. To me this is a universal principle of art. Saying as much as possible with a minimum of means."

Time and Tide is actually a good story, it's just poorly subbed. You can tell that there are alot of jokes lost in translation.

Originally the fight scene in 'They Live' was going to be quite brief. But Piper and and David has been practising the fight for a while. Carpenter loved it. The only thing they pull is the punches to the face, the rest is pretty much as brutal as it looks.

@Raoul Duke: Old skool Segal. Good choice my friend.

My wife and I love this scene from Goodfellas:

    This is a good thread.

Heroes of the East has lots of interesting weapon combinations.

This is 10 minutes long but Red Cliff has my favorite epic warfare scenes.

Aaaand despite it's PS2 graphics, this is still my favorite video game fight scene.

Forgot about this one from Equilibrium. Contains spoilers. Action doesn't start until like 2:45. Also you'll have to pardon the black guy's face, I know it looks like an MS Paint edit.

Mann did a good job with the gun noises. Sounds pretty authentic.

Well, the whole latter part of the movie is one big action scene but I love the grocery store part best.

Also, the fight between Devilman and Shirenu (starts about four/six minutes in)

And heck, I guess this qualifies too, there's so much collateral damage and bullets that it has to.

Skip to 3:30 for the action. Though personally I prefer the Japanese version which didn't have that rock music to ruin the mood.
