    Upon Arrival | OP17

Worked on it for about 8-10 hours. Had the initial idea of having a damaged colony/corporate ship, aptly named the CS Euphrates, "land" on an alien jungle planet. Any suggestions, specifically on color and foliage, etc., would be appreciated.

Hi. You're going to need to figure out how to better render everything. I can't tell what is what. The foliage looks like a study in blending watercolors together. The 'front' of the ship is not decipherable. It looks damaged or something? I think you have water in the lower left but that is not reading either.

The fog is not helping either. Don't just put fog randomly. Put it thicker in the distance so you can help the depth of the image with it.

I would probly take the planet out altogether but you could try putting it somewhere else. I would also make it a lot lighter. Make it a supporting element instead of a very large ball about to squash the ship.

Make the two little birds different \=

Get reference for anything and everything.

    Good luck!

Yeah, that planet got me thinking--it looks a bit large and dominating. Thanks for the comments. It's back to the drawing board tonight.

i like the ship a lot, i suggest finding a photo of a landscape with the correct lighting that you like and using it as reference, and working the ship into that painting.
