i know next to nothing about colour theory... i like the general feeling i get from the piece, but the blue i find a little distracting. everything else works very well i think. but like i said, i know next to nothing about colour theory...

Sure the colors work as colors but they definitely don't make a lot of sense visually. I think it would be a lot easier to judge the harmony of the color if you had used the blue tone in a more consistent manner throughout the piece. Blue in the background, one blue sock, one leg using blue as a reflected light, the other leg outlined in blue. That simply is too chaotic. Now had you perhaps just used some blue in the BG with that reflected off the figure...

not even the crappiest coloring can kill you excellent linework. Not saying these are crap colors, but I agree... The coloring seems rushed and not really thoughtfull. Maybe thats why it works anyway, since I would think that the chaotic coloring would clash with the linework, but somehow it does not... anyways.. I know I'm not making much sense here, so I might just as well shut up!

    lovely!

    You should add some focus.
Maybe by making parts of the pic darker...

It's not the colors; it's the values.

The blue is giving off more luminosity than almost anything else on the page.
