    Why I always post so late at night? Tomorrow I shall write comments!
    I much prefer the sketched tail, just my 2 cents.

    Wow! Great work from everyone...
    Just to mention a few...

    jinjorz I think either number 2 or a mix of 1 and 3 would look nice.

    jaroldsng Looking good man, I like the lighting you've done on it, and especially the luminescent stripes. The design is looking cool, but it's hard to make out because it's so dark, but I guess that's the problem with designing a creature deep underwater...

    Rob Powell Keep the dots! Definitely makes it look better and stood out from the rest of the designs. There's the problem that you can't make out your creature too well because it's so dark, and I know it can't really be helped because it's meant to be deep underwater and dark, but I think you should make your creature a bit clearer. Like you said, I think you should work on the values and forms a bit because it's looking a bit flat, and I'm not too convinced with it's shape... If that makes sense.

    pestibug I think you've got the light source a bit messed up in your current image, like there's a lot more light on the top of the creature and on the inside of one of it's fins, where there's no obvious light source affecting it.

    RyNSWOrLD Nice drawing, but I personally don't see this as a deep sea creature. Maybe you could clarify how it survives enormous amounts of water pressure?

    kayness Looking good so far! I've got naught to add >__>

    I can't sleep...so I stayed up to finish this

    My creature is nothing too flashy or grandiose. It is relatively flat and streamlined in shape, 4 eyes for seeing in the low visibility, 2 glowy attennae thing to attract prey, and the four feeling things at the bottom, just because

    p.s. oops, sorry I just realized that I didn't make the size scale of the creature apparent

    pps. when i have time i'll critique the other entries...i think there are so many excellent ones in this round

    jaroldsng omg that looks uber sick

    Rob Powell nice concept i think the glow on its body should be a tad bit stronger though

    pestibug very nice rendering of the forms :]

    RyNSWOrLD interesting concept

    kayness good detail on the eyes and mouth but work on the outer fins more

    anyways i wokred on mine more im probably gonna change its side fins

    colddegree - thanks so much but i don't know if i should do anything more on this, since I realized that my creature probably won't qualify because it doesn't look anything like it's average-shark-sized or larger D: (I missed the brief)

    Hey guys, ive been a lurker here for a while, was semi-active a while ago and want to get back into CA.
    Jumping right into it, my idea was a sort of jellyfish like creature, with fluorescent growths to lure in prey. Its only a WIP but comments & critique are much appreciated!

    @jarold
    fukken sweet creature
    love how you managed to make it look really massive
    (kinda jealous because my creature is just too small to use a submarine in the composition, all the mechanical studies from last month for nothing ;_

    @blazin
    still loving it
    you really got a hand for that translucent look

    @sealegs
    yay, another one with a chitinous concept
    excited to see it finished

    first cow Im really participating in and I already love it

    Reply (and post time) !

    Jaroldsng: What a massive beast! Really digging the 'shield'. (and your sub is bigger than mine! boooo )

    Rob Powell: Leave the dots. It adds so much more to the creature.

    Kayness: I like how frantic your creature looks. I can see it charging full speed at its prey from the murky depths. Perhaps have a whale skeleton stuck between its teeth? Should show its ENEORMOUS.

    Taiski: yeah the lightsource is all over the place. its so hard since well, there'd be no actual lightsource (except from the little submarine) but somehow I still have to show what's going on! it is.... a challenge. But maybe you like what I did now. Added lights and darkened the hell out of everything.

    ColdDegree: Thank you. Hope my latest experiment didn't ruin them Also I like yer fish! Very cool deisgn, I like how its almost a mix bewteen a fish and salamander. I can see if useing those fins to crawl along the bottom and pushing itself into narrow spaces as it scours for food.

    Blazinwolf: Beautiful rendering, the transclusency is spot on. The only thing is, I don't know if it looks 'big'. Right now it looks shrimp size?

    Alright, soooo decided to try something else, and just crush this whole image. deepsea is dark, murky. Let me know is this is better or not.

    Hey everyone, im really excited for this.

    I did alot of research last night on all this, and im trying to focus on realistically how a creature of this size would actually be able to function at these depths.

    I watched these videos for some help, you might like em as well.
