    New stuff/new site design,Big Load

    Hey all,

Here are a few new works, first two are book covers, 3 and 4 are quickies which were experiments etc.

I must say I'm pyched to be heading to the texas workshop and finally meet you all, damn thats gonna be fun.

My website has been redesigned with hopefully a cleaner design easier navigational and that horrible blue I had before is gone, hope you enjoy.

    JP

Fantastic work my friend. Im really digging the second painting and the second to the last drawing.

Critwise:I would have liked to have seen that hook thing looked gnarlier and have more gadgets attached to it.
The girls face imo should have more of an asstonished/scared look on her face.
The guys left shoulder looks wimpy and doesnt seem to be holding up his jacket correctly.

Just a few things really, but all in all nice work!

Hey Targete, the navigation is nice and clean but it's a little hard to use at first due to way the buttons disapear if you dont follow the right path. I'm not sure what to sugest about that but one thing that would be good would be to have the images open in the same window. Instead of having a new window, have the image in the window change, and stay on top. Hope that is helpful.

Great stuff Targete - the second one is my favourite. It has a very foster feel to it, but that isn't a bad thing at all. I really like your use of light and darks in that one. I dig the rest too, except for the first one. I can't put my finger on it, but it just feels a bit too contrived....the square castle, them riding around in a circle...i dunno it just feels weird and forced. Awesome rendering and lighting, but the picture itself doesn't have the life of these others.

    anwyays, overall its brilliant stuff.

    cheers!

Mindcandy man, Thanks alot bro and your one of those artist I'm looking forward to interacting with in Texas..will be cool.

    Thanks Loga!

Blackarts did I comment on your last post if not I must some great stuff with that. I totally agree with you on the first one but its actually supposed to be a force design, its part of a design that carried through the series so it makes sense once you see all the books but great that your keen cimpostion skills picked that up.

Here is a color sketch of the next one I am doing.

I saw a book of your images in the book store recently. I couldn't help but smile and think of how long I've been a fan of yours. since 1999 I think.

Good to see you keeping productive and keeping the bar high.

    Thats a nice comp J.P

I have a few suggestions though:
The tops of the towers seem to wimpy and/or anticlamactic. What I mean by that is by the time we get up there(moving my eyes from the girl down below to the top) there isn't anything really exciting. What I suggest you do is add a more ornamental(right word?) tower. It looks like your basic cylinder with pointing end thing right now. A few birds flying above might help too.

The castle looks a little small imo. I know you're messing with the perspective and all, but it looks like by the time the person on the boat gets there, it might be to small. But thats a toughy...im still not sure.???

One last thing. I think the rocks/boulders around the boat could look a little more natural if they were more irregular. If you squint down at them they all have a very similar oval silhouette.
Some moss on a few of them might help.

Sorry if it seems like nitpicking, but they were small things I thought needed work. I want to see what this guy looks like finished, cuz for a comp this guy rocks!

    hope I helped!

That is some awsome work
    Really admire your talents...

As for your website I just have some comments:
    * It would be nice to have a "Previous - Next" thing at the bottom of each gallery. Somewhat easier to navigate then.

    * Some of the text in your bio has a few odd line breaks. I would suggest u keep the fingers from the Enter button except for beginning a new paragraph.

    * There is also some inconsistent use of the javascript pop-up menu. You have it on Gallery and Store, but not on Bio. I think u should have both. In that way you can click the main menu item and navigate as on the Bio section, but also take the shortcut via javascript if that's enabled. Not everyone has that enabled, so they aren't able to see your works...

    * There is also some inconsitent in the use of fonts. The vary a bit from page to page. Try to settle for two (three if necessary) headings and one "normal" font.

    * If possible u could make the page somewhat bigger. It's a lot of black space while browsing to no use.

    * Somebody allready mention that u should try to avoid opening so many new windows. As for picture, i can se the use of it, but for text it isn't that necessary, especially if you increase the size of your site.

Ok, that was a lot of crits, but I hope you take it the right way

(Sorry for my bad English, not been writing much lately...)
