    Aaron Fung's Sketchbook

    Last night I gazed upon a sky,
    As day was veiled by mist and shade;
    I knew the dream was just a lie,
    And watched the beautiful vision fade.

    In youth we dreamed the world was ours,
    And a single life would last forever;
    But a man grows heavy with regret,
    As the years pass by in a single hour.

    Remind me of my childish thoughts,
    And my childhood home upon the hill,
    Of shades that drift, as photos rot
    And memories that haunt me still.
    --------------------

    This is my first sketchbook thread.

    I have no idea if I am doing this right at all.

    Somehow I just felt like beginning with a bit of verse, written just now inspired by the conceptart forum.

    The portraits and the urn are drawn from life. The portraits are drawn in pastel on paper, the urn is ink in my moleskine.

    The Urn is on the UC Berkeley Campus.

    The hand is a terra cotta anatomical study.

    @ All
    Thanks!

    @ Sushy
    Yes they are from life.

    Except the figure which is a mix of master study, anatomical study, and imagination.

    Here is a drawing in charcoal of a mysterious fellow; I'm not really certain of his name, though he was a nice fellow with a very interesting face to draw.

    Drawn from life in 2010
    Vine Charcoal on paper 11x14 inches
