Total newb - Starting with Painter

    Hey guys,

I have little / no experience with painting or drawing. Most of my skills involve animation, video and motion graphics.

I have begun to feel that I'd like to paint to develop a better understanding of light, composition, balance, symmetry and color theory.

I have started using Painter, and decided to post my first experiments here, as a record of progression, and tool for motivation.

The first image is actually based on an idea my wife an I had for a triptych. We started the triptych with acrylics and ran out of time for that day. So I decided to use this as a perfect opportunity to practice in Painter, to get a good idea of the actual image we will finish.

We are curious to see which will turn out better

    Update : been a while

    Hey,

So it's been a while, and I've been drawing (not enough though) and I'd like to upload some stuff (a small amount of it atleast).

I've been learning from "Drawing from the right side of the brain" , "the animators survival kit", "Dummies guide to figure drawing" so taking in alot at a time.

I must admit that Drawing from the right side of the brain is really contrasty to the dummies guide, which I find interesting in my learning process.

Thanks for looking, hope i uploaded the right ones.
