I think you should color it. The picture has a light and carefree feel, color would probably enhance that.

All of your stuff is really quirky and creative. I like it.

I love your cartooning- it's really bold and dynamic.
You just need to take the same approach with shading- and digital painting- be all **Rawr** contrast.
I did a little painty thing to elaborate. You seem to leave out the reflected light and cast shadows-that instantly adds a tonne of depth.

Hope it's helpful - happy sketching

Nice still life, my recommendation is to try one using 100% opacity brush so you have to pick the shades yourself. It's hard, but you really do learn a lot about confidence with values.

Nice stuff Betty, cheerful, and colorful

Your still life, got a bit similar values on the fruit+background.

Good exercise is to paint with 100%-90% opacity (like guys above had said), and from time to time, squinting the eyes just to see whole image a bit blurry. It helps to catch the relations between objects.

tsabu thanks! i tried 90-100% opacity yesterday, but failed badly, ending up with either overall too dark or too light drawing . gonna try later again.

    some weird sketches from sketchbook.

I like your pencil work, even your little monsters give me a funny and happy feeling looking at them! It's a cartoony style and creativity that doesn't exist in my head, sadly!

JulieSS thanks! i'm glad that you like my monsters and i don't think they're that much crerative - i struggle a lot. it all goes down to everyday practice.

boring bit - another fail pear. with 90-100% opacity
