Yaaaay, I have stars. =D This has been my secret goal for a while now. I suppose the new goal will have to be getting good enough to earn that 5th star.

Real lifedrawing today! Alas, the only local session I've found is cutting back from biweekly to monthly, but it's better than nothing. Great model, man I love curves.

Some probably-imperceptible progress on this, but whatever, I'm uploading again because it's a new page. Need to go back and talk to the friend this is for about that sword, because I think the original ref was iffy; with hands that far apart, I'm starting to realize just how massive that grip would have to be. Since this is for a guy with a black belt in SWORD, not gonna try and fake it.

Aaaaand a doodle. I don't normally even bother uploading these, but there's something about this one that I liked. Note to self, study boots. I own enough of them, what the hell is my excuse?

    Thanks, Hayden!

Not much to show today, though I did finally shoot ref for the Levi piece; should have some real progress on that tomorrow.

Did today's gestures from The Drawing Script rather than Pixelovely for some variety. This is a mix of 30 seconds, 1 min, and 2 min gestures.

sin eater - Thanks, I do do pencil drawings when I lifedraw in REAL LIFE. But, uh, not often elsewhere. Here, more gestures!

Seriously, this is the only thing I accomplished today, despite finally shooting ref for the Levi piece. I'm stuck in this weird twilight zone of sickness where I feel too gross to get anything done but not gross enough to give up and call it a sick day. OH WELL, weekend now.

Pixelovely set to men only, because it's usually 80% women, and allowing non-nude ones, because that seems to be the only way to get a decent variety of male models.

rumpenstiltzkin - Totally, get on that! MOAR GESTURES. =D

    Whirly - Thanks!

LastGen - Thank you, I don't actually have that much discipline, haha. I fake it.

The past couple of days, I've been in one of those weird slumps where nothing comes out right and drawing is a real fight. Here's one 20-minuter, which actually doesn't suck. (Okay, her face is a bit off, but I like the colours.) Still Blade Runner, obvs. Fun fact: I spent like a third of the time trying to get the colours right for that thing in the background, and I still have no idea what the hell it is.

Great brushwork on that screenie! Bladerunner has some excellent light to study I think. And I absolutely know the feeling of trying out to figure one particular area that doesn't really have anything to do with your main focus. Quite confusing, but anyway.
Hope you got well through the frustration phase
    Keep it up!

AvisNocturna - Blade Runner is so great for lighting. I feel like I'm going to have to move on to some other source soon, but it's so tempting not to. Not through the frustration phase yet, but getting there, hopefully!

Today, gestures. Tomorrow, REAL ART. I may even FINISH SOMETHING. (Oh god let me finish something.)

    Drawing Script. 30sec/45sec/1min.

    Thanks, Ninetales!

You know what I did today? I FINISHED STUFF.

Finished elf! His arm's more than a little botched, but it was one of those "I just need to call this done and move on" sort of situations.

    Attachment 1412830

Finished poker picture! It's been too long since I've inked anything by hand; I think I actually like the faces on the rough better, but everything but the faces came out pretty good, and now the commissioner has a big ol' 14x17 original to show for it. And I need to add "consistently sized figures in space" to my list of things to work on, because I think even accounting for perspective, their relative sizes are a bit off.

    Attachment 1412842

Did some gestures! Not a lot, but, uh, yeah. Some 30s/60s/90s if I recall, from the Drawing Script. Making an effort to stop ignoring hands and feet, even on the shorter ones, but there's still a lot of pointy-limbed people here.
