    got some feedback for me?

    I know you all know the feeling quite well:
    You finished an artwork and still got the feeling that there is still a lot of room for improvement.
    I gues this is pretty common, but do you have some feedback for me on the attached artwork, that might help?

    Cheers
    Armin

    I suppose it is simpler to just ask, eh?

    Merely my opinion as someone who's work is well below your own, but the thing that stands out to me is that the young fairy doesn't quite seem like she exists in the same space as the flower. Again, as a non-expert, I think that perhaps her hair is not highlighted enough near the top to indicate the strong sunlight coming down. Moreover, and this is tricky for me, I wonder if she shouldn't be casting more of a shadow onto parts of the flower below her. Otherwise, proportions seem to be good (anatomy is not my forte yet). I wonder if the crease in her blouse at the bend of her left leg should be just a bit more defined? Also, the white spots on her wings seem a little fuzzy compared to the rest of the wings...?

    Anyhow, it's a very attractive piece overall. I thank you for the inspiration to keep learning and try harder! As I'm sure you're aware, a good part of art is knowing how to look critically. I hope you won't take offense that someone clearly below your level of ability saw fit to offer an opinion.

    Warm Regards,
    - Chaz

    Potential problems:
    * focus point is centered.
    * Nothing happening on the lower half.
    * Too much contrast in the background.
    * Almost no cast shadows.
    * You should be careful with having strong value contrast AND strong color contrast in the same image.
    * I excpect more subsurface scattering and bounce light among all the vegetables.

    Cute drawing though!
