Not sure if Im gonna continue working on that fanart.
Im still working on my hand problem and I think its going places now.
The last one is a quick face from imagination - Colors are ok but the jaw is kinda wonky

Today's photoshop doodle (from imagination) features horrible anatomy, cliche blood splatters and smudge tool abuse.

    @global-wolf

Thx Colors are not really a problem for me, its anatomy that I suck at >.>

I went a little bit more detailed on the photoshop doodle but I really need to stop painting mountains so much ^^

Great progress, love the experimentation. Your studies of hands look great as well, now just follow through in your paintings so we can see what you've learned
Also, try experimenting with painting straight to color. It looks like you use the overlay/color dodge/whatever tools to get the crazy colors you do, and while that's cool, it won't help your understanding of how color works.

You're absolutely right, I'm an overlay mode addict^^
That's why I used no layer modes at all in today's photoshop doodle!
    (still used curves though...)

Btw all of today's stuff is from imagination and surprisingly the hands are better than the bodies o.o

    Incoming art dump.
I tried drawing kids today but there are not a lot of poses on posemaniacs.
I feel like maybe I should draw some people who are not "ideal".
Got any links for reference material?

    Thanks for the link!
What I'm really looking for though is references with a wide range of ages, races and body types. Most of the stuff on the reference sites I know is mostly young-ish caucasians with a slim or "normal" body.

I figured I needed to do some shading again ^^
I also tried out doing a movie still from LotR

hey man you've got some pretty cool lighting choices in your enviro's.

*UPDATED August 28th*Xelar's SKETCHBOOK If you grab this book (not a hundred percent sure it has a range of ages and less than ideal bodies in it, however its in german, not 100% on this particular print.

Also I'd recommend looking back at some anatomy books especially Loomis, sometimes pose maniacs can be a little off. Also he quickly covers the human body at different stages of growth.

    Keep practicing dude!

    Currently looking for work!
