Fantastic stuff man, I especially love your use of colour. If I had one critique it's perhaps that everything could be a bit more refined but I'm sure you know that Keep it up!

@Post #62 WOAH nice watercolors D: I just love the colors! drapery with watercolor was really hard I bet... Looks messy in some areas though, maybe you could go slower and accurater sometimes. The alchemy stuff is looking good so far, wanna see where you're going to take it You inspired me to try it more, thanks!! xD

Edit: Great updates! I really like that last one xD

Wow, the watercolor boats are awesome, very fluid and loose
correct me if im wrong, were you inspired by john singer sargent/craig mullins when painting those life drawing watercolors

hey, your landscapes are nice, I'd like to see more of them
.. not quite sure what is going on with the last few you have uploaded are they abstract pieces or extremely rough under sketches?

    Yay update!
Photo study: Try blocking in the form then refining, some spots like the faces especially have some muddy shading. Also, work on more varying colors.. can't really say how much as I don't have the original screenie to compare, but the skins mixing with a darker shade of itself also lends to the 'muddy' feeling. Good start though!
I'm loving the doodles, I just smiled, the waddle leaps off the page xD Can't tell what the caption says though..
And of course lovely enviro sketches as usual.. Enviros are definitely your strong point xD

Edit: Ok here is the paintover and a blowup of your original for clarification.. sorry for the crappiness but I think you can tell what I mean. Aside from the colors, this is what I mean by muddiness, value change isn't continuous because you went over several times with low opacity. Once I block in the colors and form of the head like in first pic, I can blend it down to be more accurate, this opaque block in helps lessen muddiness probs.. hope I helped xD

Thanks for the reply. Your digital work is great loving the colour and your environment perspective. You could so some posemanics quicky's 1 and fill a a page or 2 which will help you with anatomy and speed. I find artgrounds.com is better then photoshop for quick sketching maybe you'll be interested in trying it out.

Hey how you doing? Thanks for visiting my SB.
I don´t think you need any watercolor tips from me, you are already doing fantastic, man! I just want to see more from you! oh I´m sorry but i can´t find that watercolor step by step I mentioned... it must be lost in the storm inside my HD
You do great with environments too, nice color treatment.

also curious exercise with my photo, i wouldn´t imagine you were going to do something like that, nice.

Woah the final alchemy robot in post 81 looks amazing! but I'm wondering what the smudging from photo is? exercise in extraction? looks very interesting and I'd like to know xD
As for enviro in #83.. I think the texture's fine, might have been better if you limited it to focal areas though. Same with color, if you reserved the purest/brightest colors for the focal points it might have come together better. I like the composition and idea though I know too late, but maybe something to consider for the future.
Alchemy sketch in #84 exudes a sense of epic that I love! It does seem bit chaotic in places, mostly with the background, that kind of distracts the eye. I really like the directional energy though, with the foreshortening. I'd *really* love to see this taken further and rendered out a bit .. no pressure of course. xD

hmm, smudging from photo is exercise in face doing generally it's fun xD

and definitely i will take further sketch from #84 thanks for motivation!

here is package from my texture library (made on cloudcan request)
they are all at least non commercial use
    feel free to use them

Thank you very much for the texture links!
As for the necromancer, I took the freedom to redline a few issues that I saw, hope you don't mind.
I wasn't sure if he had an ordinary human build but I assumed that to make things easier .. but even if he is skinny/twisted/mutated, there were some basic probs that I saw
    1. Neck -where it seems to be attached on the body seems to indicate a view closer to front but where arm is attached, suggests a more 3/4 view, so by perspective the head seems to be off center (regardless of the skew, the skew looks fine)
    2. The lower chest/torso area, is the most noticeable. The way you painted it, does not make it clear from which angle we are viewing it. By itself it suggests a profile view but #1 suggests front or 3/4 view confusing the viewer and making it seem stretched/contorted to the right.
    3. Small issue with his left arm, forearm should be more foreshortened/pull forward if he's holding the staff like that. This might be more a matter of shading though.
In my paintover I did a conventional front-ish view, but whether from profile, 3/4, etc try to feel where the spine is and how the form curves around it. and of course the arms follow So even if his back is hollow or he's really skinny, it should match up in perspective.
Oh and extra note - necromancer, should be focus of image, the bright green detracts the eyes a bit, maybe consider subduing the bg a little?

    Hope I helped ^_^

cloudcan thanks a lot but i decided to remain of my idea

and for me color are not so distracting, but it's only my personal opinion (:

here's my progress and i consider it as done
i know that still it sucks but as for my first character design i'm rather satisfied

also done some refinement over warrior sketch (i don't have patience for it xD)

my bro said that creature needs some hands so there they are

AlexTooth thanks for kind of pushing to study anatomy, i get discouraged even thinking about it...

recently i started painting i called
    stepping into water

it's begun from some doodle i did
    than i gather some references
    and finally made tonal study

now i plan to do some oil color studies of this scene

than watercolor painting and at the end mixed with PS

i included some close ups too

    and here are some doodles

    and finished TC entry

it showed all my lacks in fundamental knowledge...

    high time to fill it
