i think that your value studies are coming along nicely, however your colour work seems to not have that same feeling of form (which is common as colour just servers to complicate things when your still learning a lot). so id say keep a black and white layer on top of your painting that you can turn on and off to check the forms.

if your not sure how to do that- make a new layer, then in the layers menu dropdown turn it to saturation. then with a fully black paint bucket drop that on the canvas (making sure its on the saturation layer) and it should turn b+w.

    goood luck.

Man, you're prolific! How long till you fill up that sketchbook?

The figure studies are looking good! I'd recognize studies from Bridgeman anywhere, if only because I've been working with them recently. It's a great place to look for reference and inspiration.

    Keep it up!

Did another 2 hours on the Star Wars pieces, kinda happy with it, but at the same time. ARGGHHH.
Getting so frustrated with my total inability to paint. However, not giving up, I flat out refuse to be one of those people who falls by the wayside. Sticking with it!

And a screen cap study from Terminator 2(?)
Was only gonna do it for 2 hours, but kinda over estimated what I could get done lol. This shit's hard to paint.

    10,000 Hour challenge starts here

Not to make excuses, but been crazy busy with graphics work at uni. Getting there though.
From now, I'mm going to be keeping a note of how long I'm drawing for, and working towards 10,000 hours. I know its kinda stupid. But thought it might be sweet to have some sort of goal, even if it is years and years in the future.

I'll see you at the end

So, these pages put me at 1.5/10,000

Man, I'm really digging your studies. Your definitely getting a grasp of the whole concepts in my eyes.. I would still love to see more of your imagination coming out. Try to push your inner mind and see where it takes you; I'm convinced you're more than ready for the challenge. Keep doing xerox-style studies, but start pushing your creative mind, too ( if you're not, already ).

    Just my two cents ^_^

Xerenity - cheers, I dunno, need way more work. Fucking hate my pencils atm. Fell out of the routine and trying to get back into it now. Yeah I'm gonna. Studies are kinda boring after a while anyway.

    Today's stuff...

Just some work on a personal illustration I might do.. Sketchbook work from early early this morning

And some other work from my head

BONUS: I cannot Linoprint for shit.

    Pencil Studies

Self portrait to round off my first finished sketchbook. Ever. The first of many.

Thinking I'm gonna work on full figures more. They suck hard so far.

Just gonna start with an illustration I finished (maybe) for uni recently

Then... Sketchbook work since my last post. All studies except the last one.

And as you may have guessed from that, I'm doing the Crimson Daggers bloodsports this time around. Overweight wizard. Here's what I've got so far. Might just do a straight character design and environment though, rather than posing it like any of these. I just have no idea what I'm doing, and I'd really like to finish this. We'll see.

Need to work so much more from my head. It's crazy frustrating how much worse I am with that. And then working digitally on top of it. More digital studies, and applying everything more often I think. Might start doing a page of work from my head for every page of studies.

Still life from today, gave up at this point because the leaves kept moving towards the light, and I'm too slow to deal with that shit

And a bit more work on my wizard. It's really frustrating seeing so much awesome work everywhere and not being able to match it. But that's why I'm working. Just gotta keep it up I guess.
