Dead mouth smile and mutant frog

Two pieces that I would like advice on how to improve

I'm trying to do less stylized pieces because i've been recommended to not stylize but start off realisticly, easir said than done being that i'm on disability for bi polar.

any how i'm taking a drawing class next week and i'm going to see if the instructor has any advice for me on how to to draw better from life.

A link to my sketch book is below if any wish to see.

My end goal is for some time within the next ten to twelve years to come up with my own ORIGINAL style, and be a pro, and maybe just sell some art online or something.

cheers! and thanks to those who help!

Well, I see that you're already doing some studies in your sketchbook and obviously want to more for dark/horror art but overall these both just look like you randomly scribbled something with a ballpoint pen without much thought. They're not real enough to be realistically creepy and not disturbed enough to pull out the "really creepy mental illness patient scribble" look either.
The upper one is better though, as I can at least understand what's happening and there is some sort of storytelling there, like imagining that thing is descending from the roof, whereas the other is just too disjointed and unrecognizable.
Don't get me wrong, twisting things and keeping things in the dark is important thing with creepy imagery but there needs to be something recognizable there.

If you want to go with this sort of art, I suggest you to REALLY study realism and also study artists who do this sort of art and study their techniques and try them out, instead of always going for scribbly blackness and smeary photoshop colours for your horror stuff. Here's some examples:

Well, if you want to better draw from life, then start drawing from life. I don't know what goes on in your life, but sincerely doubt that there are many death mouth smiles and mutant frogs around (Well, unless you happen to live nearby Tchernobyl that is.) Of course, it will help to have advice from someone experienced, no doubt. But the best teacher is and will always be yourself. So if you sincerely want to learn to draw better from life, then start drawing from life. The only excuse you have to not do it, is yourself.
