Sketchbook: C Davidson - The Long Road
THE LONG ROAD STARTS at Post #10 - 365 Days of Sketching
Tided Thread up.. Removed some old stuff before my vanishing act!
Started The Long Road to being an Artist on 30/05/2012
The point in the long road project is to start on day 1 as a total beginner..
and document my progress (or lack of) for a full 365 days then look back on this.
1 or more Sketches every single day. and studys inbetween (not posting studys as there mostly scribbles at this point)
This is my Learning Sketchbook.
So please don't mind how rubbish i am haha!

ur works rather cool jake i had a nosey.
Nice work man! You've got the energy you'll need long term. I think you should give some structure to your work though, try to set goals and focus on clear areas, whether its form, perspective or techniques (for example). Look forward to seeing your progress, keep posting. PS- tablets are great aren't they!
THE LONG ROAD STARTS HERE
Been Soooo long since i posted anything.
Due to reasons i wont explain i didn't start learning art when i first created this thread and had to stop....such is life..
but 9 days ago i decided come hell or high water i was going to get stuck into learning and aim to make it my life as am 27 now and if i don't do it now i never will.
Tried to look for schools near me.. sadly there was none that offered the courses i wanted. so going the self taught road. and lots of vids and books etc etc.
Here is where I have got to after 9 days of learning.. really ruff tbh but we all start somewhere !

Simple Stone and wood hammer in 2p perspective
I will try do a drawing or more every single day from now on.
PS: i know the phone pictures are terrible but my scanner has broken and once i get a new one i will re-upload the images with scanned in versions.
Well only 55mins into day 11
Another small Axe. this one with some kind of carving.
Day 11 extra
Tryed to sketch a face from imagination... am not keen on the end result.
ive always sucked real bad at faces/hands/feet/ and basicaly people heh.
Some random shed... perspective study..
its wonky at a lot of bits haha.
Am not sure why i keep ending up drawing weapons..
maybe i find them easier than doing other stuff..
I am also doing random studys and videos in-between but I don't see the need to post lots of random circles and lines haha
Day 13 Extra..
