The New Yorker's most recent issue had an interesting article by art critic and essayist Adam Gopnik about learning to draw, the Grand Central Academy and this artist, Jacob Collins, in particular.

It was interesting to see a modern art critic cover the atelier style of teaching and heartening to see a major cultural magazine like the New Yorker address the fact that many artists are dissatisfied with the modern art world and are instead learning from the past. The article also has some interesting tips on drawing that I'd never run into before. It's worth checking out.
