It has been almost exactly a month since i uploaded anything. And this has bummed me out more than i can say. The start of university is such a killer rush as i have to get all my project plans in, and in my final year it gets wordy.

But finally back with work. The first few are some quick ideas for a future space faring Robin Hood type character. The next is a wip of a warrior battling a beast as they both burst from a novel. and the last is one of my orthographic images for a model. My earlier doodle of the converse got shot down by lectures as it was not enough work (probably true)

Enjoy and as always leave my any crit and comments you have. Thanks

Had a tough time starting to get my sketch work done today, felt as if everything i had learned had gone, but Iím starting to get into it again now. Iíve also included some personal pieces i did to try and get more more familiar with colour and Photoshop.

Finally back into a decent schedule. some more poses, been giving myself a little more time on them as 30/60 seconds was draining my will to live and i saw little improvement, i have also been doing head studies and will continue to do them as i find them very hard, especially focusing on perspective and planes, which has been lacking in all my other works. As always, any crits and comments welcome

Some more work from last night i was too tired to upload, i think the faces are getting better, unsure though. Something still isnít clicking with the gestures, and i donít know what. A little frustrating.

    Hi!

Great to see so much work going into this, well done! However, having looked through your entire sketchbook, I noticed that you repeat the same exercise almost invariably - very small figure gestures with a pencil/pen. To improve you need to get out of your comfort zone a little - try picking up a stick of charcoal and a bigger sheet of paper (e.g. one side of A4 for the whole body) and getting up a good reference photo that is not too complicated - just someone standing will do. And really observe! Every lump on the contour of the body is vital - it can be muscle, a bone, fat, etc. It's important to connect what you see on the outside with a little bit of anatomy.

    Looking great so far,
Can't wait to see what you do next!

    Best wishes,

    Ana

    @ Jansi

Wow thanks for the input, you make a lot of really good points for me to work on. Iíll get down to some long figure/value studies in the next few days. To be honest i hadnít thought changing mediums would help me improve, but Iíll give it a go now you have pointed it out.
Hopefully your advice will help me improve, been feeling stuck recently.

just some life and light works.
